Every week we'll pick a handful of awesome comics from the thousands available through Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited. From creator spotlights to editor's picks and more, this'll be your spot to find something new and cool.

To celebrate our Week of the Witch, Unlimited Highlights proudly presents the life and times of Wanda Maximoff, the stunning Scarlet Witch!  With AVENGERS VS. X-MEN #0 nearly here, hitting store shelves and the Marvel Comics app March 28, we wanted to get you up to speed on one of the series’ most serious players.  Follow Wanda from her beginnings as an Avenger, to her fall in the House of M and beyond—these issues have got it all!

AVENGERS: EARTH’S MIGHTIEST HEROES #7

Once mutant terrorists, Quicksilver and The Scarlet Witch fought beside Magneto, the Master of Magnetism, in a grim campaign against all of humanity. Now they want to join the Avengers. Have the super powered siblings turned over a new leaf?  Do they have what it takes to join the ranks of history’s most storied heroes? Iron Man seems to think so. It’s an all-new era for the Avengers, and the beginning of Wanda’s career as one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes!

VISION AND THE SCARLET WITCH (1982) #4

Wanda and her husband, the android Avenger Vision, enjoy Inhuman hospitality on Attilan and meet their brand new niece Luna, the daughter of Quicksilver and Crystal.  Yet on Earth a lone pilgrim clad all in white climbs the snowy slopes of Wundagore Mountain searching for his past, with revelations that could shatter Wanda and Pietro’s happiness forever. Yes Magneto, now knows his true relation to The Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, and when he confronts them with this earth-shattering secret, it shakes their newly formed family to its very core!

AVENGERS (1998) #3

In a world that shouldn’t exist, a broken timeline of a bygone age, the Avengers fight for their lives against one of the most evil enchanters to ever live: the dreaded Morgan Le Fay! Yet while the sorceress controls the Twilight Sword she controls reality, and with an army mind controlled Avengers to do her bidding, what chance do shields, slings, and hammers stand? While mortal weapons may not be enough, the Avengers still have an ace up their sleeve in The Scarlet Witch. The crimson clad heroine’s hex bolts terrify Le Fay and may help turn the tide in an all too one-sided battle!

HOUSE OF M #1

After all the super villains, the insanely evil plots, the celestial battles, and alien invasions, one of their own brought them low. Wanda Maximoff destroyed the Avengers. She laid waste to family and friend alike when her powers went berserk. In the aftermath, on the desolate island of Genosha, Charles Xavier tried to heal her fractured mind, but he failed, and now the Avengers and the X-Men must decide Wanda’s fate. But will one of the world’s most powerful mutants go quietly into the dark? Will Quicksilver stand idly by and let them take his sister? Will Magneto do nothing? Forget everything you think you know, because after this, nothing will be the same!

AVENGERS: THE CHILDREN’S CRUSADE #6

In the aftermath of M-Day nearly 99 percent of Earth’s mutant population lost their powers, their genetic mutations taken away by The Scarlet Witch, who then disappeared.  The Young Avengers finally found her under the sway of the mad dictator Doctor Doom and eventually managed restore her memory and her powers. But what does a newly resurrected Scarlet Witch mean for the rest of the world? The X-Men hold her accountable for M-Day and the Avengers want to make sure she never gets a chance to alter reality again. Wanda just wants to start over and make things right. Will the two super teams ever give her the chance?

Come back tomorrow as an exclusive interview with artist Frank Cho concludes Week of the Witch. And remember to pick up AVENGERS VS. X-MEN #0 on March 28 and AVENGERS VS. X-MEN #1 on April 4, in stores and on the Marvel Comics app!
