      First Appearance:
      AVENGERS (1963) #54
      Where He Appeared in 2013:
      AGE OF ULTRON
      Why He’s #8:
“This ever-evolving artificial intelligence created enough havoc in 2013 to ultimately prompt a major break in Marvel’s time-space continuum, thus impacting many different worlds. The product of Hank Pym’s genius found the means to partially achieve his ultimate goal of eradicating humankind. Fortunately, Wolverine and Invisible Woman after a few missteps, established a plan that spared Pym’s life and led to the eventual defeat of Ultron…but at what cost? At the very least, the steps taken to vanquish the evil mechanical entity produced a rip in the fabric of the multiverse. While Ultron remains defeated, his machinations indirectly continue to bear down on the forces of good.” – Tim O’Shea
      Digital Comic Spotlight:
      AGE OF ULTRON #10

          MALEKITH

          First Appearance:
          THOR #344
          Where He Appeared in 2013:
          THOR: GOD OF THUNDER
          Why He’s Also #8:
“2013: the year Malekith became a movie star in ‘Thor: The Dark World,’ but didn't let all that attention go to his head. He remained too busy wiping out his own people. The former King of the Dark Elves did not take kindly to being deposed and imprisoned, and cut a bloody path through the Nine Realms in his quest for vengeance. A League of Realms formed to stand against him, but they have found him to be a most dark hearted and merciless foe.” – Andrew Wheeler
          Digital Comic Spotlight:
          THOR #348

              7. BULLSEYE

              First Appearance:
              DAREDEVIL #131
              Where He Appeared in 2013:
              DAREDEVIL
              Why He’s #7:
“There's one weapon in this master assassin's arsenal that Daredevil had yet to come up against: his mind. After being paralyzed and reduced to life inside of a metal lung, Matt Murdock's greatest enemy focused all of his seething hatred towards revenge, physically attacking the Man Without Fear with a trio of deadly foes, and mentally assaulting the hero by exhuming his father's remains and placing his ex-wife Milla in harm's way. But Bullseye's ultimate plan led to his ultimate defeat, with his final showdown with Daredevil leaving the would-be criminal mastermind robbed of the one sense he had left: his sight.” – Brett White
              Digital Comic Spotlight:
              DAREDEVIL (2011) #27

                  6. ARNIM ZOLA
                  First Appearance:
                  CAPTAIN AMERICA #208
                  Where He Appeared in 2013:
                  CAPTAIN AMERICA
                  Why He’s #6:
“While geneticist Arnim Zola failed to unleash mutates weaponized with his consciousness on the Earth, it remains clear part of his malicious plot succeeded in defeating Steve Rogers on a personal and painful level. All went according to plan when he lured Captain America to Dimension Z, as he injected Zola’s technological presence into Cap. But from there, his plans went off the rails, as the Star-Spangled Avenger found the means to escape and take the boy Ian with him. Zola set out to corrupt innocents, such as Ian and Jet Black, as well as twist Captain America’s blood into a vehicle to create malevolent monsters. While victory eluded his grasp, in the end Zola took two people—Ian and Sharon Carter—away from Cap and nearly broke his spirit.” – Tim O’Shea
                  Digital Comic Spotlight:
                  CAPTAIN AMERICA (2012) #8

                      5. IKARI

                      First Appearance:
                      DAREDEVIL (2011) #25
                      Where He Appeared in 2013:
                      DAREDEVIL
                      Why He’s #5:
“Thanks to Bullseye's elaborate revenge scheme, Daredevil finally met his match in Ikari. Gifted with the same extra-sensory abilities from the same toxic waste that turned Matt Murdock into the Man Without Fear, Ikari added his newfound abilities to his already impressive mastery of martial arts to give Daredevil the fight of his life. The new villain beat the horned hero to within an inch of his life. Just as the battle relocated into a closed sporting goods store and DD's hand inched closer to a selection of heavy duty baseball bats, Ikari dropped the finishing blow: ‘Try the red one.’ These four words revealed that Ikari gained all of his power without being robbed of his eyesight. Murdock may have put an end to Bullseye's madness, but he left that battle with a new, possibly deadlier, foe in his rogue's gallery.” – Brett White
                      Digital Comic Spotlight:
                      DAREDEVIL (2011) #26
