The action and drama hit new heights on the latest episode of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Thanks to a pair of Asgardian guest-stars, Coulson and his crew went up against a threat unlike any they've come across and made a powerful new ally. Sif and Lorelei made a mess of the Bus during their Norse-powered brawl, and we got to see Agent May roughhouse with Agent Ward in a less than pleasant manner, leaving the not-a-couple on truly shaky ground. But just because the credits have rolled doesn't mean that the Marvel adventure's over. Here are a few comic books selected to pick up where "Yes Men" left off.
Jaimie Alexander brought her big screen gravitas to the television show and nearly stole every scene she appeared in. Kicking mobile homes, throwing bikers around like plush toys, riding on top of a jet midflight – Sif proved that she's the real deal when it comes to Marvel Universe bad asses. If you want more Sif, you have to read JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY, Kathryn Immonen and Valerio Schiti's solo Sif series. You'll definitely hear Alexander's voice as this Sif fights monsters and her own berserker rage.
Lorelei's been causing trouble for the Thunder God for over 30 years now, and this issue by Walt Simonson marks the beginning of her long con to make Thor fall in love with her. But first – Thor has to fight a for-real, larger-than-life dragon! Following that, Lorelei's scheming gets underway as she poses as a human named Melodi and begins dating Thor's newly created alter ego.
With a villain known for possessing the minds of men running amok, the women of S.H.I.E.L.D. took charge. Yep, a full-on all-female S.H.I.E.L.D. SWAT team busted into Lorelei's Las Vegas penthouse, and May and Sif were the only two heroes to engage the Asgardian in hand-to-hand combat. If you want more female-driven action with an Asgardian twist, you can't go wrong with Cullen Bunn and Will Sliney's FEARLESS DEFENDERS. Charged with creating a new team of warrior goddesses, Valkyrie must select a group of heroic women to form the new Valkyrior.
"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." returns on Tuesday, April 1st at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC!
