Jubilee may be best known as the feistiest teenager to ever sneak her way into the X-Men's ranks, but this young lady has grown up to be much more than just Wolverine's sidekick. This firecracker's been through a lot in her years as both an X-Man and member of Generation X. In addition to returning to Westchester County as a key member of Storm's elite X-Men team, Jubilee's now known for being both a vampire and a mother. She's grown up so fast!

Jubilation Lee first debuted 25 years ago this month in UNCANNY X-MEN #244, by Chris Claremont and Marc Silvestri. Jubilee owes her creation to the vice grip that mall culture had on America back in the late '80's. In her debut appearance, the teenage mutant swiped a move from '80's pop sensation Tiffany by putting on a light show in a shopping center.

The mall cops – or "huff-'n'-puff rental badges," as they're called in the issue – had had enough of Jubilee's shenanigans and became dead set on arresting her. Jubes' prep school gymnastics training and some skateboard riding punks helped throw the cops off her trail.

If there's a mutant in your neighborhood, who you gonna call? The M-Squad, apparently.

But there were more mutants in that mall than just Jubilee. After giving into Dazzler's plea for a vacation day, Storm and the rest of the female X-Men teleported from their home in the Australian outback to the Hollywood Mall. After makeovers and some "Magic Mike"-esque diversions, the X-Men noticed something bad going down just outside the food court.

The M-Squad's equipment had started to wig out, threatening to destroy more than just Jubilee. Psylocke rescued the teen from the M-Squad's anti-mutant machine, and Dazzler used her light powers to turn the device into scrap. With the cops -- *achem* rental badges -- still searching for her, Jubilee decided to take her chances with the X-Men's teleportation portal.

Jubilee ended up in the X-Men's remote Australian headquarters, where she kept a low profile until a catastrophic attack left the team scattered across the globe. Jubilee came out of hiding to save Wolverine, who had been left for dead by the villainous Reavers. From that point on, Jubilee's loyalty has never been called into question and she's become a valued member of the team. Jubilee's come a long way from sneaking in performances during peak shopping hours!
