Every week we'll pick a handful of awesome comics from the thousands available through Marvel Unlimited. From creator spotlights to editor's picks and more, this'll be your spot to find something new and cool.
Captain America, Havok, and the rest of the team from UNCANNY AVENGERS find new foes with all too familiar faces in the Apocalypse Twins’ Four Horsemen of Death. To bring you up to speed we’ve prepared a little primer on the history of the Horsemen, and an issue spotlighting each new rider. You might be surprised to find who’s taken up the saddle.
Shiro Yoshida, the man once known as Sunfire, flies the skies, a blazing comet carrying famine in his wake. War, a mutant formerly called Gazer, rides a horrifying mechanical nightmare bringing death and destruction to the Xavier Academy. Apocalypse rises again, this time offering salvation, instead of extinction, to the beleaguered 198 remaining mutants. His blood holds the future of the entire dwindling race. Which X-Man will ride to their ruin and take up the mantle of Death?
Wonder Man, aka Simon Williams, and his brother Eric, the Grim Reaper, have a very complicated relationship. They love each other, sure, but Eric has always been the bad boy. He turned to a life of crime and eventually donned a crazy costume, becoming a super villain. Now he’s teamed up with Ultron to combine the brain waves of the Vision and Wonder Man into one body, giving him his brother back without all that incredible ionic energy. Will Simon survive the experience, or does death come for the Grim Reaper?
Someone’s picking apart the X-Men piece by piece, and Banshee holds the key to their opponent’s identity. Unfortunately for him, the bad guy doesn’t want his secret coming out quite yet, and attacks Sean while he sits comfortably aboard a commercial airliner. The villain throws a Blackbird at the sonic mutant and unless Banshee can use his scream to divert the aeronautical missile, he and the fellow civilians won’t make it to the tarmac in one piece!
Bob Reynolds, one of the Marvel Universe’s most powerful beings, can no longer keep his demons at bay. The Void has risen, taken control of the Sentry’s nigh limitless power, and threatens to destroy Asgard, and the planet. But the heroes of Earth and the Shining City will stand, they will fight, and at the end of the day either the Sentry will have fallen or Earth will be no more.
Thanks to Daken and his gang of super villain pals, a teenage Apocalypse stalks the halls of his hideout, the Shadow King hunts Psylocke, Fantomex hangs against a wall minus his heart, and Wolverine drowns, possibly putting an end to X-Force as we know it. Unfortunately for the feral mutant’s wayward son, it’s gonna take a lot more than a long bath to keep Logan down—and when he gets back up, he’ll make Daken wish he’d never been born.
