Super humans come in many different forms. Some may be truly human, but enhanced by technology, or magic, or alien science. Others represent variations on humanity: mutants, Inhumans, Atlanteans, and even clones.

The latest version of NEW WARRIORS, from creators Christopher Yost and Marcus To, brings all these types together in a war against forces that would see them all eradicated.

The High Evolutionary has dedicated his life to controlling the evolution of the human race. He has very firm ideas about humanity should develop, and sees all super humans as a threat. Thanks to NEW WARRIORS writer Christopher Yost we can present an exclusive glimpse into the Evolutionary’s journal, featuring his assessment of the threats posed by Warriors like Justice, Speedball, Scarlet Spider and Nova.

FROM THE JOURNAL OF THE HIGH EVOLUTIONARY:
My name is Herbert Edgar Wyndham, but history will know me better as the High Evolutionary.  I leave this record now so that one day, people will understand that the crimes I commit now I do so for the survival of humanity.

Humanity. For so long, I sought to use my science and knowledge to evolve humanity into something greater, but I see now that I was wrong. The problem isn’t with humanity, but with the malignant sub-species that threaten to drown out Homo Sapien. On the eve of this second Evolutionary War, I have sent out my new allies, the Evolutionaries, to bring me samples of these aberrations. But each of these subsets of humanity have powerful champions.

They must not be allowed to interfere with my plans, for the end of humanity is nigh.

Judgment is coming.

CLASSIFICATION: MUTANT
KNOWN TERRITORIES: NEW YORK, CANADA, etc
TARGET SPECIMEN: VANCE ASTROVIK, aka JUSTICE
OTHER SPECIMENS: CYCLOPS, WOLVERINE, THE X-MEN
By far the most destructive of the human sub-species, mutantkind has long been a danger to humanity. Known throughout the universe as a threat, these creatures have themselves been brought to the brink of extinction. Their numbers once again rise, however.

CLASSIFICATION: SUPER-HUMAN
KNOWN TERRITORIES: NEW YORK, etc
TARGET SPECIMEN: ROBERT "ROBBIE" BALDWIN, aka SPEEDBALL
OTHER SPECIMENS: SPIDER-MAN, HULK, FANTASTIC FOUR
Radiation, gamma rays, cosmic rays, man-made manipulation; Earth’s super humans are as diverse as they are abundant.  In any other species, such exposure to radiation and other contaminants would have caused death, a testament to the potential in homo sapien. But within each is the potential for the destruction of mankind.

CLASSIFICATION: CLONE
KNOWN TERRITORIES: HOUSTON, WESTCHESTER, etc
TARGET SPECIMEN: KAINE PARKER, aka SCARLET SPIDER
OTHER SPECIMENS: X-23, NAMORITA, RAGNAROK, BENTLEY-666
Abhorred by mankind, cloning technology goes against the very essence of what it means to be human; but once unleashed by the likes of Mister Sinister, Arnim Zola and others, it proved impossible to put this sin back into Pandora’s Box.

CLASSIFICATION: HYBRID/ALIEN ENHANCED HUMAN
KNOWN TERRITORIES: SPACE, KNOWHERE
TARGET SPECIMEN: SAMUEL ALEXANDER, aka NOVA
OTHER SPECIMENS: STAR-LORD, QUASAR
Long has Earth been sought after by any number of alien races. Over thousands of years, humanity has been repeatedly experimented on or invaded by aliens, leading to any number of human/alien hybrids, as well as alien technology slowly corrupting human DNA.

Our exclusive look inside the High Evolutionary’s journal continues tomorrow with his assessment of the threats posed by the newest Marvel characters to call themselves New Warriors: Hummingbird, Water Snake, Haechi and Sun Girl. And be sure to pick up NEW WARRIORS #1 on February 19!
