Mardi Gras has arrived in our universe, and you can still have some Fat Tuesday fun even if your feet are nowhere near Bourbon Street by hopping into the Marvel Universe. As New Orleans' favorite son, the card-throwing X-Man called Gambit has taken many trips down to the Big Easy – usually with a bad guy or two hot on his tail. To celebrate Mardi Gras in the mighty Marvel manner, we've searched through our digital back issue bins for some of Remy LeBeau's most daring adventures in New Orleans!

You can read all about the first hand ever dealt to Gambit in this origin issue. Gambit grew from a New Orleans street rat to the man chosen to unite the warring Thieves and Assassins Guilds by way of marriage. Shockingly enough, a wedding filled with thieves and assassins did not go according to plan.

Gambit's loner lifestyle changed dramatically when he stumbled across a de-aged Storm and helped her escape from both the Shadow King and the Orphan-Maker. The new duo started robbing from criminals to provide for those in need, becoming the modern day Robin Hoods of New Orleans.

After officially joining up with and traversing the stars alongside the X-Men, Gambit saw his foggy past became a little clearer when his ex-wife Belladonna arrived unannounced at the X-Mansion. Thanks to a nest of body-snatching Brood aliens located underneath New Orleans, LeBeau's new super hero family came face to face with his old Thieves Guild family – with explosive results.

Not too long after his ex's unexpected arrival, another figure from Gambit's former life snuck into the X-Mansion – his brother Henri. Maybe Gambit shouldn't have sent out those "change of address" cards? With Henri came news of even more turmoil between the Thieves and Assassins, leaving Gambit with no choice but to travel back down south to settle matters. This time, though, his sorta-girlfriend Rogue came along for the trip!

If you think the Mardi Gras parade turns New Orleans into a madhouse, just replace all those celebrators with a marching horde of zombies! That's what Gambit and Brother Voodoo had to deal with in this team-up issue that left the Big Easy's erstwhile protector with some hard choices to make.
