It’s already one of the most highly anticipated comics of the year, and Marvel is proud to announce that DEATH OF WOLVERINE #1, the first issue in September’s blockbuster 4-issue weekly event, is about to get even bigger! Now weighing in at a whopping 56 pages, DEATH OF WOLVERINE #1 comes packed to the gills with bonus content for the same price!

Charles Soule and Steve McNiven kick off this landmark issue with the first chapter of this eagerly awaited series! Left without his mutant healing factor, witness The Wolverine as he makes his last stand. With his back against the wall, this is one battle he will not return from.

And it will take more than a mutant healing factor to repair the void left in a world without Wolverine.

Then, go behind the scenes of this landmark issue with over 20 pages of bonus content! Go from concept to finished page and see how penciller Steve McNiven, inker Jay Leisten and colorist Justin Ponsor bring writer Charles Soule’s script to life!

DEATH OF WOLVERINE #1 also features new interviews from X-Men and Wolverine creators, past and present, including Wolverine co-creator Len Wein as they reflect on 40 years of being the best there is at what he does – and the legacy he leaves behind.

Each issue of DEATH OF WOLVERINE also features a special Weapon-Etched Holo Foil cover treatment that must be seen to be believed! As if there wasn’t already a reason to experience the Earth shattering end of an era, no fan can afford to miss the oversized debut in September’s DEATH OF WOLVERINE #1!

Everyone involved with this abortion needs to be fired.  You have lost me as a fan forever!  Never buying another marvel product.  How can you take beloved characters with decades of history and loyal, hard-core fan bases (first Wolverine and now Thor) and just toss them out the window.  You guys disgust me.  I hope readers turn from marvel in droves.  I hope the new Thor is a bust and you all lose your jobs.  You suck. Plain and simple.

Wolverine will not die, he will just need a lot more time to regenerate.

Whats next Marvel are you going to change it from the X-men to X-non specific gender because you cant leave out the women and non specific gender people out of the title.

I get that you want to make comics more inclusive and more diverse but the way youre doing it is just stupid and its going to kill your long time reader fanbase. I HATE the direction Marvel is going in. If you want to keep long time readers youll quit trying to fit classic characters into your new molds instead of creating new characters.

Marvel, for the love of Odin please listen to us! We do not want you to kill the characters that we love! This will not get you more readers.  You might get a small boost in sales for a moment because people want to know what is going on, but as soon they realize that you are destroying their favorite characters and settings, THEY WILL STOP READING! Instead you will be hurt in the long term and when the readership of your books falls low you will realize that it was a mistake, and bring back the character. But the fans will not come with them, because they have realized that will do this allover again in a few more years.  This is not the way bring in sales, or to even keep those sales stable.  Instead do what we have always wanted you to do, make a better story. Consitent, well written titles, are what will keep your fan base reading, and eventually it will get new readers interested in these comics, and grow your company and industry.  In short ,  ADD to your characters and world, don't subtract.

Keep him "dead" for at least 5 years to make this storyline worth anything

Can--can I just give Marvel my debit card info?

@ThegnThrand Check out MC2's WILD THING; the future daughter of Wolverine, existing in the same continuity as Spider-girl, lol.  She had pretty Wild Hair, but not Body Hair.  There was also Rancor from the 90's Guardians of the Galaxy.

But I do hope X-23 will get another Solo Series in Wolverine's absence.  They just need to focus on longer storyarcs.  Part of the problem with her previous series was that the second half was cut down to a bunch of smaller, less-consequential stories and made it feel like Marvel didn't have much faith that the book was going to continuing long-term, and people started dropping it figuring it was doomed.  X-23 is the only Female Wolverine we need!

@osarumen @farenasutem It's to much, every X-men comic or movie, there he is, i hope he "dies" for at least 5 years, he needs the time off, and comics will be better off without him, enough is enough.
