On a bellow of thunder and the crack of lightning comes the Thunder God, one last time!

Marvel is proud to present your first look at THOR: GOD OF THUNDER #25, the oversized final issue from "New York Times" bestselling writer Jason Aaron as he assembles a bevy of the industry’s greatest artists for a titanic tale that should not be missed! Witness new stories of the Thor from each era as well as the untold origin of one of the God of Thunder’s greatest foes! Plus, before THOR #1 hits in October, be there when the new Thor makes her thunderous first appearance inside this epic, oversized issue!

First, it’s Young Thor vs. the Frost Giants as Jason Aaron and artist Simon Bisley tell a tale the brash, youthful God of Thunder as he wields his enchanted battle axe Jarnbjorn against the worst Jotunheim has to offer! Then, Aaron reteams with his artistic collaborator from Scalped, RM Guera, to bring you the blood-soaked origins of one of the God of Thunder’s most maniacal villains – Malekith the Accursed! Witness the untold origin of the ruler of the Dark Elves as he cuts a bloody swath across the Ten Realms in his rise to power and prominence!

Finally, as the Thor of today deals with the startling fallout of ORIGINAL SIN, fast forward to the future as Aaron and Esad Ribic bring you a new tale of King Thor and the Girls of Thunder. Deep in the halls of Asgard, Thor’s granddaughters have uncovered a startling secret chapter of Thor’s past. A secret long since buried. Who is the new God of Thunder and why was her existence kept secret?

Be there when one chapter in the God of Thunder’s life reaches its end…and another begins. No fan can afford to miss out on the epic, over-sized THOR: GOD OF THUNDER #25 when it thunders its way into comic shops and onto digital devices this September!

Marvel was thumbs up but it's all thumbs down. Bye Marvel. Thor, the God of thunder has been my collector comic and I sadly refuse to follow a fake who cannot even have her own name. New readers lap it up because you know no better. Us older readers have to accept this throwing away permanently of a character we have come to know and love over all these years. Thor's time has come to an end. THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER THOR. THERE IS ONLY ONE ORIGINAL AND THE BEST. THE ONE WORTHY OF THE NAME AND MJOLNIR. It was a long and glorious run. I AM TRULLY SADDENED..

I am super pumped for this and the new Thor character coming up in October. I am pretty new to comic collecting, and a lot of these new iterations of characters felt like a safe place for me to start without feeling like I missed too much prior.

@meadfam thor isn't being thrown away. i'm not sure why everyone is being so dramatic about this. this is just a change in story for thor. eventually thor will either come back holding mjolnir or maybe it will change in some other way. heck thor isn't even leaving and will still be here.i've been reading for 20 years so this can't be a old vs new reader thing.

besides if the reboot does happen than it's all going to start over soon anyway.

@royroyroy @meadfam Marvel says this new Thor is here to stay. The watcher says to embrace this new Thor, after all it is still the power of Thor only wielded by a woman. You say this is only another story line and that Thor as we know him is still around.  I cannot  accept 2 characters in the marvel universe named Thor. I can't accept that the power of Thor comes solely from Mjolnir and that just because another is worthy to hold the hammer has the right to take on Thors name. Thor was born Thor and worthy of his birth right. I cannot buy this new comic and consider it to be a continuation of the same Thor title I have followed for over 40 years. This is why this change is being felt so hard by me. I will keep watch via the marvel web sight, and hopefully one day when Marvel wakes up, or this new character flops, Thor, Odin-son does return and reclaim the title comic. Nuff said.

Thor is the peoples favourite god, that is why they wear Thor’s hammers around their necks.

A Thor for grownups along with Sif would defend ordinary people against exploitation and alienation from each other and nature that is occurring under the forces of globalized and power of monopoly finance capital.

Along with his wife Sif, Thor would defend the world against those who would destroy the bio-spheres ability to support human civilization.

A Thor for adults worthy of Mjölnir would be tackling the imperialist nature of globalization and corporate capitalism.

Loki represents the dark side as the trickster with a complete lack of concern for the well-being of the other gods, humanity or nature.

Loki helps whoever, depending on which is most advantageous to him.

This could seem to be defending mankind and nature, but in global terms like our capitalist elite he will side with monopoly finance capital against the best interests of humanity and the Earth in order to exploit nature and ordinary people to accumulate wealth and power.

      WolfieSmith

Thor is worthy of Mjölnir because he defends ordinary people and with the help of his wife Sif our natural environment against Loki and the multinational corporations and monopoly finance capital which seeks to exploit mankind and nature for the sake of its own gratification.
