By Erin Kelly Each week we highlight a classic storyline told in full inside Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited, the greatest collection of Marvel comics available online! This week we revisit NEW AVENGERS #14-15 SPIDER-WOMAN! Get the story of the woman, the Skrull behind Secret Invasion in NEW AVENGERS #14-15: SPIDER-WOMAN. The pages of NEW AVENGERS always bristle with mystery. In NEW AVENGERS: SPIDER-WOMAN, writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Frank Cho finally clear up the murky waters surrounding Spider-Woman, at least, that's what they want you to think. Jessica Drew recounts her transformation from a de-powered hero to a New Avenger as well as the terrible price she pays for it: serving S.H.I.E.L.D., Hydra, and Nick Fury all at once. Meanwhile, Ms. Marvel decides not to return to the Avengers and the sudden appearance of the Sentry's Watchtower forces the New Avengers to introduce themselves to the World. The New Avengers go through one of the classic Avengers rites of passage when they finally unveil their new team in NEW AVENGERS: SPIDER-WOMAN. Of course with Wolverine—and more problematically, Spider-Man—on the team, the Avengers have a hard time getting the kind of press that they're used to, unless they can win over one J. Jonah Jameson. NEW AVENGERS: SPIDER-WOMAN gives both creators a chance to shine. Bendis weaves a bit more of the web that grows into Secret Invasion and artist Frank Cho, always at his best when drawing women, tells stories about two of the most beautiful female Avengers. For those of you keeping up with Secret Invasion, Bendis plants plenty of ester eggs in NEW AVENGERS: SPIDER-WOMAN. See if you can spot references to the caterpillar file, a key skrull replacement and the moment when the Skrull Spider-Woman recognizes one of the biggest threats to her plans.
