"2005's PUNISHER: SILENT NIGHT was my first-and until THUNDERBOLTS this year, my only-work for Marvel. I've always been a huge fan of Garth Ennis' work on PUNISHER, and since he [took] the character down a very dark and serious path in the MAX title, I figured my Christmas story should go with a slightly more tongue-in-cheek vibe; more akin to the older Marvel Knights stuff.
"The idea of Frank-as-Santa ruining Christmas for a bunch of innocent little orphans was just too good to pass up. Yes, I am a bad person. My only regret is that there wasn't room to include the scene where the fat kid rummages around in Santa's sack looking for presents, and finds it stuffed with guns and explosives.
