Profound. Unique. Staggering. Squiggly.
Many words have been used to describe the heady and heart-wrenching work of up and coming talent Michael Pasciullo III—these are just a few of the printable ones.
Now Pasciullo brings his unique vision exclusively to the House of Ideas—beginning with the forthcoming series entitled THOR: BRINGER OF THUNDER.
Pasciullo, who has no formal artistic training, is currently at Marvel Entertainment as Vice President of Merchandising and Communication. He was discovered locally by Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada.
"I was stunned."
"We were in a meeting discussing the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con, and I noticed Mike drawing. A lot," recounts Quesada. "I looked over his shoulder and saw the most breathtaking Spider-Man sketch. I was stunned."
Pasciullo, it turns out, had been honing his skills during meetings for several years and accumulated a collection of work featuring numerous legendary Marvel characters and Philadelphia-based sports figures.
"When we saw the fresh perspective Mike brought to characters like Captain America and Wolverine, we knew we had to get him signed exclusively," Quesada enthused.
Pasciullo: The Best
He Is At What
When asked about his new role at Marvel, Pasciullo—visibly misty eyed—proclaimed, "Signing an exclusive with Marvel is beyond a dream come true. Through the years I've worked tirelessly to develop an art style that is distinctive and unmistakable but at the same time organically speaks to the essence of the characters."
Dan Buckley, President and Publisher of Marvel Comics, refused comment.
