In AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #539 MJ keeps a watchful eye over May, as Spidey ventures out, pulling his black costume out of retirement and thirsting for vengeance.

During the past few issues, we've seen a darker, more vengeful side of Peter Parker start from the bottom and fight his way to top--the Kingpin of Crime. After checking in on his wife and aunt in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #541, Peter inflitrates the Ryker's Island prison complex to confront the Kingpin once and for all. We know the showdown will be epic, but will the Kingpin finally push Peter to do the unthinkable? Angrier and more merciless than ever, Spider-Man may finally cross the line in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #542.
