After a 10 year absence, Luke Ross returns home to the House of Ideas…and he's doing so exclusively.

His new status could not make Ross happier, he says, elucidating, "Coming back to Marvel is something I've been dreaming a long time. I had great moments working for SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN and some other titles more than a decade ago, I was missing it."

While a simple reunion would have been cause for celebration, Ross notes that the exclusive contract makes for sweet icing on the cake:

"[The contract] is something that put me in a comfortable situation for doing my best work for Marvel."

The excitement certainly goes both ways.

"Luke's a talented, productive guy, just the sort of artist we're constantly looking to bring to the Marvel stable," states Marvel Executive Editor Tom Brevoort. "He's really raised his game in recent years, utilizing a more fully-rendered style that adds depth and realism to what he does."

Ross' first project in his new Marvel journey? CAPTAIN AMERICA.

"A Few months ago on a lucky sunny day I got an invitation from Ed Brubaker himself [to work on] CAPTAIN AMERICA with him and Steve Epting," enthuses the artist. "Captain America is one of the icons of my childhood and Ed and Steve are two creators that I admire and respect a lot. I'm very excited."

Brevoort acknowledges, "It was the opportunity to work on CAPTAIN AMERICA with Ed Brubaker that was instrumental in luring him over here."

The arrangement on the book will be that Ross and Epting will, "be alternating on stories," Brevoort explains.

Fans of Ross's will not have to wait long either to see his rendition of the Star-Spangled Sentinel of Justice. His first issue will be CAPTAIN AMERICA #43, due out in October.
