World Fantasy Award-winning writer Stephen King, and Marvel Comics join forces once again to launch a new ground-breaking comic book series adapted from King's apocalyptical novel, THE STAND! Acclaimed writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (SECRET INVASION: FANTASTIC FOUR, ANGEL: REVELATIONS) brings the first of several limited series to life this September in THE STAND: CAPTAIN TRIPS #1 (of 5)! THE STAND, which is commonly deemed as King's most popular novel, is a story of Biblical proportions; after a government-made virus mows down majority of the human race, the few survivors must band together in order to survive. With visually stunning interiors from Eisner-nominated artist, Mike Perkins (CAPTAIN AMERICA, HOUSE OF M: AAVENGERS), the human race is going make their last stand! Plus, a mind blowing, sketch variant from acclaimed artist Lee Bermejo and the first of five connecting variant covers from Perkins!

To celebrate the release, THE STAND: CAPTAIN TRIPS #1 (of 5) goes on sale at 12:01 am, September 10, at participating comic stores around the nation.

''Fight On, Police Woman'': After breaking several traffic laws while chasing the Iron Cross Army, Takuya is placed under arrest and is sent to jail. While there, his cellmate escapes with the assistance of an Iron Cross Army machine bem. Spiderman digs deeper into the connection between the jailbreak and the army, only to find that they needed the convict for their plan to steal Cobalt X. Now Spiderman must make sure that Professor Monster can't get to the Cobalt X, or face the destruction of the city!
