This one-of-a-kind take on a comic book classic has been nominated for the Quill Awards' Graphic Novel of the Year. The Quill Awards were created to inspire reading while promoting literacy and honor those writers and their books that stand out in the field of literacy. Best of all the winners are voted on by you!

Maximum Fantastic Four was nominated for its beautiful Jack Kirby art and careful analysis by popular novelist Walter Mosley. As a tribute to Kirby's rendering of Marvel's First Family and their first adventure, Maximum Fantastic Four re-presents Fantastic Four #1 as you've never seen it before – highlighted by a super-size, digitally remastered, panel-by-panel exploration of the entire issue that captures every single detail and nuance of Kirby's groundbreaking artwork. The retro-hip coffee-table style art book also contains a substantial introduction and afterword by bestselling author and comic book enthusiast Walter Mosley; art commentary by Kirby expert Mark Evanier; the stunning design of Paul Sahre; and huge double-side foldout dust jacket that doubles as a poster as well.

"Readers will witness a journey through a comic that, though reprinted many times before, has literally never been seen like this before," says Marvel Publisher Dan Buckley. "I fully realize that comic fans have heard statements like that many times in the past but I say it with the most sincerity I can muster: this is a book that belongs on the shelf of every single Kirby enthusiast, Fantastic Four follower, and comic book aficionado."

Unlike anything before it, Maximum Fantastic Four celebrates the ushering in of momentous change in comic-book illustration and ingenuity. Jack Kirby's art revolutionized visual storytelling and brought the art of reality to the extraordinary lives of super heroes. The ripple effects of that single issue continue to influence comic-book art to this day. With its New York Magazine Best Book Jacket of the Year award-winning package, this coffee-table art book masterpiece is a must-have for anyone with an eye for heroics.
