Wolverine's the best he is at what he does and he'll be back in movie theaters on Friday, May 1 in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine"!

Here on Marvel.com, we'll be celebrating the Canucklehead's return to the silver screen all month long starting today with the official kick-off of Wolverine Month!

Throughout April and leading up to the "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" premiere on May 1, Marvel.com will highlight Wolverine's illustrious four-color history in addition to giving you ever-present updates on the upcoming movie with all the latest photos, videos and more!

Plus, every Friday, we'll be posting COMPLETE Wolverine stories in Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited and stay tuned for WOLVERINE: HUNGER, an Exclusive Digital Comic coming Wednesday, April 22!

So sharpen your claws and dig in, True Believers—we're four weeks away from Wolvie's big screen return and Marvel.com's the place to be!

Every week, a secret cabal of Marvel staffers gathers to discuss the best of the best when it comes to the House of Ideas.

Wolverine has been many things to many people over the years: a hero, a warrior, a lover—and a fashion plate.

Yep, Logan has changed outfits over the years more often than a contestant on "America's Next Top Model" during Fashion Week. And since he's the best there is at what he does, he's rocked 'em all.

As part of Wolverine Month, the Secret Cabal took a look at the ol' Canucklehead's wardrobe and picked their 10 favorite get-ups.

For each outfit you get the quick rundown as well as a special spotlight comic courtesy of Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited.

As always, these picks reflect the personal choices of the Secret Cabal, not the official opinion of Marvel or Marvel.com, and can be considered subjective at best. Enjoy!

10. AGE OF APOCALYPSE

First Appearance: X-MEN ALPHA #1 (1994)

Most Recent Appearance: X-MEN: AGE OF APOCALYPSE #6 (2005)

Why It Makes the List: "When the X-Men Universe was turned on its axis in 1994 by the Age of Apocalypse, everything that was once familiar changed dramatically, including Wolverine. The one-handed, mask-less Weapon X, with his dark blue costume and harsh facial markings, looked nothing like the Logan we knew and loved. It was a bold divergence from what had become a classic, comfortable part of comic book culture, which could also be said for the AoA in general; both pushed boundaries and both succeeded in making their mark." – Annihilator882

Spotlight Comic: WEAPON X (1995) #1—Meet the Logan and Jean Grey of a world where Apocalypse rules!

9. DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

First Appearance: UNCANNY X-MEN #141 (1981)

Most Recent Appearance: UNCANNY X-MEN #142 (1981)

Why It Makes the List: "Years from now after killer robots conquer the world and subjugate humanity, Wolverine will look like your kinda crazy uncle—and he will be a complete bad ass. In the classic two-part 'Days of Future Past' saga, the Logan of tomorrow rocked a simple tan jacket with furry trim, a black t-shirt, and some comfy-looking pants to protect Kitty Pryde from the Sentinels. Usually the clothes make the man, but in this case, the man made the clothes, and he made them awesome." – Annihilator882

Spotlight Comic: UNCANNY X-MEN #141—An aged Wolverine fights to save the future!

8. PATCH

First Appearance: WOLVERINE v1 #4 (1989)

Most Recent Appearance: WOLVERINE: ORIGINS ANNUAL #1 (2007)

Why It Makes the List: "Sure, Wolverine may be the best there is at what he does, but he's certainly not the most original. He could've thrown on the eye patch and named himself 'Roger' or 'Ol' Creaky Steve' or 'General Unhappenstance.' Nope, he went with Patch. To Logan's credit, he made the name work, building an identity and a reputation for himself on the mean streets of Madripoor." – Secret Cabal member Agent_M

Spotlight Comic: WOLVERINE: ORIGINS ANNUAL #1—Logan returns to Madripoor to settle old debts!

7. XAVIER SCHOOL UNIFORM

First Appearance: UNCANNY X-MEN #275 (1991)

Most Recent Appearance: X-FACTOR v1 #70 (1991)

Why It Makes the List: "When Jim Lee's vision ruled the X-Men world with stunning images, it was surprising to see most of the team don the traditional uniform. I loved this look because it reminded everyone of who put the 'X' in X-Men—the man that founded the school they lived in, Charles Xavier. I found it to be a great way to honor to the history of the team." – Secret Cabal member RunawayJ

Spotlight Comic: UNCANNY X-MEN #277—It's an X-Men civil war as Wolverine goes head-to-head with Gambit!

6. X-FORCE

First Appearance: X-FORCE v2 #1 (2008)

Most Recent Appearance: Currently in use

Why It Makes the List: "Wolverine can make blue, red and gold work like nobody else, but for black ops missions, those colors can be a bit obtrusive to say the least. Fortunately, Logan's got a deep closet, and this stealthy black and silver number gives James Bond jealous fits. As if Wolvie wasn't enough of a scary dude before, when he throws this gear on, he can sneak up on those who have drawn his ire and pop the claw before they even hear a footstep. Smooth." – Annihilator882

Spotlight Comic: X-FORCE v2 #1—Wolverine leads the new X-Force into battle with the Purifiers!

5. NEW X-MEN

First Appearance: UNCANNY X-MEN #394 (2001)

Most Recent Appearance: UNCANNY X-MEN #443 (2004)

Why It Makes the List: "Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely's 'lots of leather' mutant biker look definitely polarized fans, but the more realistic take on X-Men costumes suited Wolverine perfectly. Functional, sexy, modern and badass, the New X-Men outfits may have come and gone, but we'll never forget them." – Agent_M

Spotlight Comic: NEW X-MEN v1 #142—With Cyclops in tow, Wolverine embarks on a journey to learn the secrets of his past!

4. ASTONISHING

First Appearance: ASTONISHING X-MEN #1 (2004)

Most Recent Appearance: Currently in use

Why It Makes the List: "I think this is the best redesign ever. It combines elements of Logan's first costume as well as the looks of traditional X-Men uniforms, with a modern twist. It was the perfect costume for him to don in a time when Joss Whedon was getting the character and the X-Men back to their super hero roots." – RunawayJ

Spotlight Comic: WOLVERINE v2 #41—Wolverine must make a dangerous escape from war-ravaged Africa with a baby strapped to his chest!

3. WEAPON X

First Appearance: MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS v1 #72 (1991)

Most Recent Appearance: MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS v1 #84 (1991)

Why It Makes the List: "During perhaps the most painful and trying experience of his long life—and that's saying something—Logan wasn't even afforded the dignity of a pair of pants, instead being subjected to an array of wires, tubes and conveniently-placed power-packs strapped across his body. However, when the Weapon X project sent their prize experiment out into the wild with a crazy looking high-tech helmet to fend for himself against wild bears and wolves, no look could be more intense and appropriate." – Annihilator882

Spotlight Comic: MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS v1 #72—The "Weapon X" saga begins!

2. BLUE & GOLD

First Appearance: GIANT-SIZE X-MEN #1 (1975)

Most Recent Appearance: X-MEN v2 #113 (2001)

Why It Makes the List: "Wolverine's blue & gold uniform had not one but two glory runs, as Logan wore during his earliest days as a member of the X-Men and then donned it again for a lengthy period during the 90's. It was also the costume Wolvie used during the seminal 90's X-Men cartoon, immortalizing the look for my generation. The blue & gold was obviously colorful and made Wolverine stand out, but it also looked plenty dangerous and you never forgot he was a bad ass predator. It fit in with the X-Men's basic color scheme, but also allowed Logan to retain his signature individuality." – Annihilator882

Spotlight Comic: UNCANNY X-MEN #133—Wolverine goes solo against the Hellfire Club's hordes!

1. BROWN & TAN

First Appearance: UNCANNY X-MEN #139 (1980)

Most Recent Appearance: WOLVERINE: ORIGINS #27 (2008)

Why It Makes the List: "When you think of Logan, there's a good chance you think of this costume. From the Frank Miller's classic "C'mere, Bub" cover to the uniform being torn to shreds during his battles with Sabretooth, most of my fondest memories of Wolverine were when he wore the brown & tan. He adopted this look shortly after joining the X-Men and it defined him for almost two decades. This is almost the definition of classic when it comes to design and makes the most sense for someone who hunts in shadows and calls himself 'Wolverine.'" – RunawayJ

Spotlight Comic: WOLVERINE #1 (1982)—Logan travels to Japan seeking to gain honor in the eyes of his lady love, Mariko!

1. Brown/Tan (cool/stealthy/superheroy) 2. Astonising (basicly the original with slight enchancments) 3. X-Force (just plain sweet) 4. Original (it's, well, the original) 5. AOA (awsome) 6....

Only the astonishing costume or blue/yellow costume could be #1

Brown & Tan is the #1 Classic, and the traditional blue & gold/Astonishing suits are also staples. But I LOVE the X-Force suit! This should become Wolvie's standard uniform. It makes much more...
