Spider-Man is Back…In Black

They say clothes make the man, but when Peter Parker dons the Black Spider-Man costume for the first time since the 1980's, it signifies a dark change for Peter following Civil War. And this time, it may be for good.
This February, in the pages of Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Sensational Spider-Man and Amazing Spider-Man, the Wall-Crawler is back…in black! And even in the debut of the ongoing Spider-Man Family #1.
After witnessing the ruthlessness of numerous battles in Civil War—one of which resulted in the death of Bill Foster, a.k.a. Goliath—and the fact that captured heroes were being kept in a prison in the Negative Zone, Peter Parker made a decision to abandon the registration movement.
Once again, Spider-Man is public enemy #1. Hunted, his identity exposed, and accused of being a traitor; Spider-Man's life has been a nightmare during Civil War, and the darkest days are yet to come. Now, faced with the devastating aftermath of Civil War, the most recognizable character in comics finds himself donning one of the most controversial costumes ever as he goes back to his black duds, to fight back to reclaim what is left of his shattered life.
But what could possibly have caused this dramatic change in appearance: the death of someone close to him? Or possibly something even more tragic? Find out as Spider-Man is back…in black!
