It's been over two years since Steve Rogers died in CAPTAIN AMERICA #25. Since then, Bucky has picked up the shield to become the new Cap and writer Ed Brubaker has continued to make Cap one comics' hottest titles.

CAPTAIN AMERICA # 1 (2004)
The Cosmic Cube holds the power to bestow upon its user the ability to reshape reality around them. Unfortunately for Cap, the Red Skull has resurfaced, armed with the Cosmic Cube and ready to do some serious damage. With the capability to do anything his whacked-out Nazi mind can dream up, does Captain America even stand a chance against the Red Skull?

Speaking of reality-twisting events, even Captain America couldn't escape the House of M. In this world, Cap was never frozen in ice. Had Cap not been lost for decades, how would his life have changed? And what happens when he begins to realize that this future was not the one he fought for? Check out this moving, alternate reality tale.
CAPTAIN AMERICA # 16 (2004)
You'd be hard-pressed to find a crazier, more messed up couple than Crossbones and Sin, the Red Skull's daughter. Ever ready to cause some chaos, this issue finds them steadily increasing their body count as they shoot and bomb their way through Kansas. When Cap and S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 13 head to America's heartland to find the murderous duo, they come across some very surprising eye-witness accounts. According to the good citizens of Lawrence, Cap may not be the only super soldier in Kansas.
CAPTAIN AMERICA # 26 (2004)
Steve Rogers is dead. The man once known as Captain America was gunned down in broad daylight on the steps of a New York courthouse. As the country and its heroes mourn for the fallen hero, new questions arise. Who was behind the murder of Captain America? Can there be another Captain America and, if so, who will pick up the shield?

A new day has dawned and Bucky Barnes has adopted the mantle of Captain America from the late Steve Rogers. Sporting an updated costume and decidedly different methods, while still slinging the same shield and upholding Cap's classic ideals, the new Sentinel of Liberty arrives in style. But are Bucky's moves good enough to be the new Captain America? You better believe it.
