Marvel & Tim Gunn Team Up to Fight Crime...and Criminal Fashion in Models, Inc. #1 Get your first look at one of 2009's biggest crossovers
Posted: 2009-05-29 00:00:00 Updated: 2009-08-11 12:43:47 Marvel Comics is proud to present what is sure to be the most talked about release on and off the catwalk. What happens when the most iconic figure in the fashion industry teams up with the best-dressed hero in the comic book world? Find out when Tim Gunn & Iron Man join forces this August in a special back-up story in Models, INC. #1. Models, INC. is a limited series set in the world of high heels, high drama and high fashion, and features Marvel's Fashionistas Mary Jane Watson, Patsy Walker, Millie the Model and more. As reported everywhere from the New York Times to "Entertainment Weekly" to "The Today Show," this pairing of Iron Man and Tim Gunn is the very model of a perfect match.
The special Tim Gunn story, "Loaded Gunn" is written by Eisner-nominated author Marc Sumerak. In "Loaded Gunn," the New York Museum of Fashion is hosting an exhibit of Iron Man's armor—the best suits in the Marvel Universe. When a villainous threat crashes the event, it's up to Iron Man to save the day, but he will need help from the man best-suited for the job: Tim Gunn. As he told the New York Times, Mr. Gunn is thrilled to be a part of this groundbreaking endeavor. "To say I'm a character in a comic book is wild!" The first issue of MODELS, INC. hits stands August 26, just days after Tim Gunn's wildly popular "Project Runway" returns for its new season. This collectible comic book will be available with a special variant by AMAZING SPIDER-MAN artist Phil Jimenez featuring Iron Man and Tim Gunn, the two best-dressed men in the world who know how to make it work!
Complemented by the Tim Gunn/Iron Man back-up story, MODELS, INC. tells the tale of Fashion Week gone deadly. In this four-issue limited series written by Paul Tobin and illustrated by Vicenc Voillagrasa, the traditionally glamorous New York event proves to be murderous, not just on the models' feet but for the models themselves. It's up to some of the best-dressed detectives in the Marvel Universe, including Patsy Walker and Mary Jane Watson, to stop the killer before he strikes again!
