Dark Reign: Sinister Eating Habits According to writer Brian Reed, Mac Gargan's tastes may finally catch up to him in DARK REIGN: THE SINISTER SPIDER-MAN #2

Some days, it feels like you just cannot help but make some people angry.
In DARK REIGN: THE SINISTER SPIDER-MAN #2, from writer Brian Reed and artist Chris Bachalo, Mac Gargan seems to be having that sort of moment. Not surprisingly, he has only himself to blame for it—himself and his unusual dining habits.
"In the time he's been posing as Spider-Man, Mac has already made quite a few new enemies, and he's done so by means of snacking," elaborates Reed. "Eat an arm here, a leg there; pretty soon you have a lot of angry people who want revenge."
A bevy of baddies make up the livid folk in this case, but readers should not expect to recognize them. Rather than fall back on already established villains, Reed made the decision to further enrich the Marvel Universe by introducing a few of his own.
"It's a whole new rogue's gallery," the writer reveals. "Since we were making up new things, we had the chance to create villains in the same mode as the story itself: a little twisted, a little funny, and rather dangerous all around."

In addition to being dangerous, the revenge seekers have the element of surprise on their side. See, Gargan has distracted himself a bit with an obsession from his past; an obsession revolving around a certain mustachioed blowhard.
"His thoughts are about how much he still hates J. Jonah Jameson, and how great it would be to ruin that guy's life," Reed explains. "[So] at first, Mac's doing his thing, trying to make J. Jonah Jameson's life miserable."
Still, the element of surprise might not be enough to get one over on Gargan. Especially given his mental state these days and that aforementioned diet.
"Mac's crazy [and] the symbiote is hungry," Reed summarizes. "As long as Mac keeps it fed, the symbiote will help him with all of his crazy. And in these four issues, there is one hell of a lot of crazy."
Enjoy some heaping scoops of the crazy on July 1 as Brian Reed and Chris Bachalo send out a team of brand new villains against the Dark Avengers' Spider-Man in DARK REIGN: THE SINISTER SPIDER-MAN #2.
