This fall, Norman Osborn's making a list, but he'll only need to check it once.

As Osborn's rule over the Marvel Universe tightens, the Green Goblin-turned-Iron Patriot targets his biggest threats and prepares to deal with them accordingly. Comprised of eight interconnected one-shots, DARK REIGN: THE LIST refers to a literal list of people, places and things that hold particular importance to the Marvel Universe's current man in charge. A different creative team tackles each issue, which each address one item on the previously mentioned list.

For the next week, Marvel.com will be speaking with the talented writers responsible for Making the List.

Dark Reign:
The List

It gets a little hotter in Hell's Kitchen this fall when writer Andy Diggle sends Norman Osborn and his psychotic band of Dark Avengers after the Man without Fear in DARK REIGN: THE LIST—DAREDEVIL.

"Something provocative happens that forces Norman Osborn to finally take notice of what's happening in Hell's Kitchen," says Diggle. "All of Bullseye's Christmases come at once when Norman finally gives him the green light to take out Daredevil once and for all."

THE LIST one-shot sees the teaming of Diggle with artist Billy Tan and takes place directly after the events of DAREDEVIL issue #500, the current creative team of writer Ed Brubaker and artist Michael Lark's final issue. The special also leads right into DAREDEVIL issue #501, Diggle's first issue as writer on the ongoing title with artist Roberto De La Torre. Diggle took some time from learning the eccentricities of billy club wielding to tease fans on what to expect from the upcoming special.
Marvel.com: From what we understand, the List one-shots are Norman basically going pro-active against things he feels are threats in the Marvel Universe. What can readers expect to see in your story?

Andy Diggle:
Well, Matt Murdock's been very preoccupied with his own problems for a while now, which means he's taken his eye off the big picture. While Matt's barely interacted with the wider Marvel Universe at all, his old enemy Bullseye has been allowed to run hog wild in the guise of Hawkeye. All of that's about to change.

Marvel.com: This issue bridges the gap between Ed Brubaker's last issue and your first. In that regard, is it safe to say this special sets the tone of what readers can expect to see in your run?

Daredevil

Andy Diggle:
Yeah, very much so. My DAREDEVIL run picks up from where Ed left it, and THE LIST—DAREDEVIL is the connecting tissue that joins them together.

Marvel.com: Why does Norman decide to go after Matt Murdock? What threat does he pose to the Dark Reign?

Andy Diggle:
I can't answer that without spoiling the ending of issue 500. But let's just say it's a game-changer.

Marvel.com: Well, Matt Murdock long ago separated himself from the Avengers team, but considering the situation, would he consider going to them for help?

Andy Diggle:
Matt's never been good at asking for help, even when he desperately needs it. Some might call it self-sacrifice; others might call it ego. But in THE LIST, he'll be getting back-up from a most unexpected source.

Marvel.com: You mentioned Bullseye earlier. How excited is he about this considering he has free reign to kill Daredevil in a way?

Andy Diggle:
Bullseye's just as happy as a clam. A psychotic, mass-murdering clam. And yes, Daredevil and Bullseye will go head-to-head in Hell's Kitchen. This one's been building for a while.

Marvel.com: Daredevil's identity as Matt Murdock is a bit out in the open. This

"Hawkeye"

makes it very dangerous for him now that he's wanted by Norman. How does this affect his regular, non-super hero life?

Andy Diggle:
The events of DAREDEVIL: THE LIST will make it harder than ever for Matt to go back to his "normal" life. But considering the smoking wreckage that's left of his "normal life," the question is, would he even want to?

Marvel.com: Artist Billy Tan joins you on this title. What does he bring to the table? How does his style compliment yours?

Andy Diggle:
Billy brings a crisp, fluid dynamism to the action that's a joy to behold. There are few things I enjoy more than choreographing a cool action scene and watching a great artist bring it to life, and Billy's work is amazing.
