William Hurt, Academy Award winning actor has been cast by Marvel Studios to play General Thaddeus E. "Thunderbolt" Ross
opposite Edward Norton, Liv Tyler and Tim Roth in 2008's The Incredible Hulk, directed by Louis Leterrier (Unleashed, The Transporter 2).
As General Ross, Hurt will play the Air Force honcho determined to bring down both Bruce Banner as well as his alter-ego, the Incredible Hulk. A role role requiring grit and gusto, General Thunderbolt
Ross is attempting to flush the Hulk, played by Edward Norton, out of hiding and rid the world of the threat he poses, even if that means killing him. This obsession breeds conflict however, since his daughter is Betty Ross, Bruce Banner's love interest. Played by Liv Tyler, Betty will attempt to stand between her father's resolve to destroy the Hulk and the love she feels for Bruce Banner.
But General Ross won't be alone in his quest to destroy the Hulk. No, this time he'll have some competition from the evil Abomination, a creature whose sheer strength and ferocity rivals that of the Hulk. Played by another veteran actor in Tim Roth, the Abomination shakes the world all the characters thought they knew.
