Robert Downey Jr is currently promoting his "The Soloist" drama and answering never-ending questions about the upcoming "Iron Man" sequel. When he sat down with MTV News, he dropped a few hints regarding the plot. One of the stories from the comics that has always interested director Jon Favreau was the "Demon in a Bottle" arc, in which Tony Stark begins abusing alcohol to a point where it gets in the way of him being a superhero.Downey now revealed that "Iron Man 2" will NOT deal with Stark hitting the bottle. "I think that's probably best saved, because it's such its own storyline," he said. "We're going for the interim space [between the origin and "Demon"], which is more a look behind the mask of someone who says he's Iron Man and what it really is to become a superhero."04-04-2009 (13:00:32)
http://www.worstpreviews.com/headline.php?id=12866

I think they should cut costs and have RDJ just play Iron Man and War Machine, he was already an Oscar nominee for playing a black guy.

You can't have a no name as THOR. Sorry. It won't work. THOR isn't as big as you guys think to the outside world. He's not as iconic as Captain America or Spider-Man or even Superman. Captain America, yes, cast an unknown. Thor, no. Cast someone who can bring more cash to the box office than just the fan boys. And if Viggo wants the part, he'll have to gain some muscle. He's too small.

BRANNAGH DIRECTING IRON MAN IS GOING TO BE AWSOME, HE KNOWS MARVEL, HE'S GOING TO GET THE THOR MOVIE RIGHT..AS FOR IRON MAN 2, LOVE TERRANCE BUT CHEADLE WILL BE AWSOME AS WAR MACHINE..BLACK WIDOW I HEARD WAS SCARLET JOHANSON..I PREFER MILLA JOVANOVICH OVER HER, SCARLET IS PRETTY BUT MILLA HAS THE PHYSICALITY AN LOOKS GOOD RED HEADED.HEARD JUSTIN HAMMER WOULD BE THE NEMISIS MOGUL,GOOD KEEP IT TECH BASED AND BUISNESS POWERHOUSE ORIENTED, I THINK IF YOU GET TO FANTASTICAL LIKE MANDARIN AND MAGIC RINGS, IT MIGHT GET ALLITTLE TOO MUCH.

Hey i'm all for Kenneth Branagh directing Thor i think he is a great director even though he is recognised for all his Shakespeare movies.( As a director )As for Thor well i'm a Viggo Mortensen fan so i would like him to be Thor but i don't mind new and unknowns. As long and the can pull off the part and make an impresstion. I'm sure Marvel will make a great pick the have done well so far.

Hey the guy who is directing Thor was Gilderoy Lockheart in the second Harry Potter movie-check it out on IMDB-That's weird-hope he'll do a good job.

Sorry, but the dude from Toronto's face doesn't look right. And neither do his muscles. Now, Hunter Hurst Helmsly on the other hand, resembles Thor right down to the wide nose and family blood line, to the hair and muscles. Even in his WWE apperances and role he uses a sledgehammer. Yeah. Really. Watch Smackdown or google him. He's got the look down to everything. He's a fantastic actor as we can pull off anything that would call for in THOR. I'm for HHH for Thor. Brad Pitt can't compare for Thor, no one can. HHH for Thor. Get on the bandwagon.

Gerard Butler should be Thor. The look-alike doesnt have the chops to carry a tv show- much less a movie. Pitt as Dr. B who becomes Butler? That would be the best - but it would probably cost way too much.P.S. Cheadle is 500x the actor Howard is.

[quote@johnnysword Terence Howard is the only actor I didn't like in the original movie. The guy can't act. No wonder the studio didn't want to give him more money. Don Cheadle is 5x's the actor Howard is so I'm not losing any sleep over it.My only concern is how they're gonna be able to pull off the Mandarin and still make it look cool.
theres only one guy to play the Mandarin and thats James Hong http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0393222/

Hahaha, I don't mean to be a jerk but the budgets for these movies are going to be in the $100 million range and going with unaccomplished actors is a HUGE risk. He may be good, but Branagh is an accomplished Shakespearean trained actor. If the guy auditions and Bran thinks he is good great, but just because a person physically resembles a comic character doesn't mean they can capture the characters essence. Leave casting to the pros, we got a great Wolvie in Jackman and he isn't 5'3"(I think that's Wolvie's comic height) and he was able to step into the role and bring him to life. I'll step off my soap box now.Cheers!

[quote@Totalpckge [quote@tubaisland06 [quote@Totalpckge Yo why did they not bring him back for Iron Man 2?
Money Dispute
How much were they off by? Geez I loved his character.
Howard received more money than any other actor in Iron Man because he was the first to be signed. Marvel saw this as an investment and when they went into negotiations for IM 2 he wanted the same amount as the first(even though he only had like 12 minutes of screen time in the first one). Soooo, he got paid leading actor salary for a movie he had a small role in. I say good riddance, his voice is too high pitched for me if he is going to be wearing War Machine gear, Cheadle has a deeper voice and is a more versatile actor.
