Attention all X-Fans! We've got the scoop on who will be appearing in "X-Men: First Class," the next film in the "X-Men" saga and prequel to the original trilogy! And don't forget, "X-Men: First Class" opens on June 3, 2011!

Award-winning actor Kevin Bacon will be appearing in the film as a currently unnamed villain!  Known for his roles in blockbuster titles "Footloose" and "Apollo 13," Mr. Bacon is sure to wow the crowds in the latest X-Men flick!

Before we introduce you to the rest of the cast, it would be hard to begin without first identifying the man who brought all the X-Men together, Professor Charles Xavier!  The young Xavier will be portrayed by "Wanted" star James McAvoy as he struggles with the awesome power of his mutant mind!

Veteran actor Michael Fassbender will be doing some heavy lifting as Erik Lensherr, the man who would later become Magneto, the Master of Magnetism!  Much like Magneto, Fassbender has witnessed the impact of war in the hit HBO miniseries "Band of Brothers," as well as in Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds."

Actress Jennifer Lawrence will also be appearing as the blue bombshell, Mystique! Jennifer is a well-versed actress known for her roles in "Winter's Bone" and "The Bill Engvall Show," so she should have no trouble adapting to Mystique's ever-changing form in "X-Men: First Class"!

The young Nicholas Hoult will light up the screen as everyone's favorite braniac, Dr. Henry "Hank" McCoy, better known as Beast!  Beast is an asset to the team not just by his brains, but also by his brawn!  It's a good thing that Hoult has seen some action in the 3D epic "Clash of the Titans," so he's no stranger to the serious butt kicking that's sure to come!

Fresh from the award-winning "No Country For Old Men" comes Caleb Landry Jones, who will be appearing among the X-Men as the master of sound, Banshee! Capable of projecting a wide range of sonic frequencies, Banshee's power is almost limitless, so Caleb will have some pretty loud pipes to fill when "X-Men: First Class" hits theaters!

Make way for the White Queen, Marvelites, as actress Alice Eve takes on the role of Emma Frost!  Alice was most recently seen in this summer's hit "Sex and the City 2" as well as alongside stars Harrison Ford and Ray Liotta in "Crossing Over."  Something tells me that she wont need Emma's telepathic powers to hypnotize moviegoers; her stunning beauty will take care of that!

So who will be the force behind all of these stars as they take on the roles of those uncanny X-Men?  None other than Matthew Vaughn will be leading the charge as the film's director!  You've may have already seen his work as on "Kick-Ass," so there is no doubt that his talents fit the bill! And back as producer is "X-Men" and "X2" director Bryan Singer!

Don't fret, True Believers!  This isn't the last you've heard about the X-Men's latest and greatest!  Make sure you stay tuned to Marvel.com for more news and with San Diego Comic-Con just days away, get ready to hear much more about all Marvel movies!

What!! this is not first class, emma frost and havok aren't that old and where are the 5 originals... Brian Singer left the X-Men for Superman and nearly destroyed that DC character, and now he returns to marvel to completing the destruction of the x-men in movies, it looks like he and the fox are just picking randomly x-men caracters regardless of their stories lines and their chronology in the universe of x-men.

I love X-Men, but this movie is going to suck! How are you going to have X-Men First Class without Scott and Jean, but with Emma Frost and Angel Salvadore? I just read the Yahoo movie update. I think that really blows. It was bad enough how they did them in the Wolverine movie. It hurts me to see such a great comic picked apart.

I´m looking forward to the new movie!Ok, the comics are much better, but that does not mean that the movies are bad. I see them as two separate universes.

@aussiemutant: I have no problem with the fact the you really liked the x-men movies, I'm glad you did. With that being said, accept my opinion that I really didnt like the last x-men movies. I can have an opinion and question the guy that produces the movies cause thats why they leave a comment board in the first place and It's we have free speech. You might not think it matters, but maybe one of the producers clicks on this article and reads the 80 negitive comments about where this movie is heading and he decides to change it. It could happen.

jhall1536
jhall1536

@capital: you countradicted yourself in your own arguement, the Phoenix is a seperate entity taking cotrol of Jean Grey's body and mind, not a split personality. Thats why Jean, Rachel, Madylen Pryor(??) and now Hope(maybe) all have Phoneix powers. Thats the whole point, so it has to matter. But I'm not a psychologist so don't ask me specifics. But this is off topic. I'm not asking them to completely copy and paste, word for word, from the comic into the movie, I'm just saying that I would like them to stick a little closer to the concept and ideas of the comics, like they did in the first X-Men.

CAPITAL
CAPITAL

jhall1536 wrote: "Pick up any comic in the X-men universe and I will GUARANTEE that Jean grey does not have a split personallity," There has definatly been episodes where the X-men found out that the Phoenix was actualy a seperate being taking over Jean Grey's body giving her a split personality. The fact that the personality was a different being should'nt matter. It's *#*@&@&@ for tat because a second personality would be a whole different being as well. People should stop comparing the movies to the comic's the movies are based on the comic's they're not THE REMAKE of the comics. If a movie is based on a true story it would not be the exact story. Anyway I loved the X-men movies. Didn't care for the Wolverine one though but that's a matter of taste I think

aussiemutant

will you people just get over the fact that some people really liked the x-men and wolverine movies, the guy who produces the movies actually wrote the comics so none of us have the right to question the author.

Look, stormystiquefan, you're entitled to your opinion, nobody's begrudging you that. Would it kill you to extend the same courtesy? So you like the way the X-Men have been treated on film. That's no reason to insult those of us who don't.

can we all just stop complaining i mean its getting a bit much! aw poor babys!! your favorite superhero died WAHAHAHA i wasnt this upset when mystiques powers got token away i was like uh well i'll just read a comic then cause i know she still has em in that story line, i mean its getting to the point where u people dont even need opinons anymore like come on! im happy they made marvel movies cause it then forces the fans of the movies to read comics and connect with the characters more. all im saying is this whole "oh this movies gonna suck and oh i hate this guy who acts as that guy" heres a tip READ YOUR COMMENTS OVER! to see how ridiclous they are

jhall1536
jhall1536

We should be ashamed because we voiced our opinions about a franchise that, by most of the comments, we love, has turned into an absloute f-ing joke?? Pick up any comic in the X-men universe and I will GUARANTEE that Jean grey does not have a split personallity, cyclops and xavier are still alive, and magneto still has his powers. The only thing that is even remotely close to being "x-men" in the movies is the name on the cover of the box. Now with that being said, I am all for everyone haveing their seperate opinions about what this movie is going to turn out to be, in face I welcome the debate. BUT if you don't want us to bag on you because your opinion is positive, do not sir bag on us because our opinions are negative. And the rest of us will continue to go buy our comics cause I think thats what brought most of us to this site in the first place and the basis for our whole problem with this movie.

stormystiquefan

aussiemutant. i agree with u its like an angery mob its absoulty ridicoulus i bet the same thing happen about the first ironman and look how successful that got, anyway i get annoyed when people complain about movies when they havent even seen the trailer OR the movie, oh an another thing if a person says they think the movies gonna be great dont say there not a ture x men fan im sure stan lee would disaprove of somthing like that.

ErikMGalon
ErikMGalon

Yep, unfortunately I have to agree to the guy who sad that this is not X-Men. None of the films are faithful to the comics. I'm sure all that the fans wanted to see in the films was X-Men the way they are, not all this stuff that was made. I have no expectations for this film. I'll probably go to the cinema and watch it, but I know it won't be that thing. It won't be X-Men.

Whenever Marvel taints my favorite comic series with a movie like "X-3" or what "X-Men First Class" appears to be shaping up to become, I watch the old 90s cartoon and die a little inside. Also, I can't believe that anyone trying to get people excited about a comic book movie would even THINK of mentioning "Wanted!" You'd be better off saying something like "James McAvoy- the star faun from 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe!'" Ugh! It's like physically painful for me.

aussiemutant

your all complaining about nothing! how can you all say the X-men movies were bad? I'm going to be a movie director one day and I'm sorry to say but your all giving x-men and marvel a really bad name! you should all be ashamed of yourselves. i really hope Stan lee doesn't read these comments. shame on you all so called X fans!

Havik86
Havik86

I kind of agree with what Esean is saying. Personally I'm not excited for this movie at all, but if the franchise was back in the hands of Marvel then I'd feel like I'd have something to look forward to. The way they've planned and executed the Avengers franchise and its various solo hero films seems to be great strategy thus far. Whether or not it all works out in the end is still up in the air.

Esean

People need to stop accusing Marvel so much when SONY-phony and Faux-FOX are the failures behind Spider-man and X-MEN respectively. You'd figure that when Disney bought Marvel, they would have made a deal to buy back the rights. Then Marvel Studios could have planned the proper reboots just like they did with HULK. But No-o-o-o-o-oooo... They allow Phony to cast a near 30 yr old as a teen? WTF?! And I keep reading that First Class is supposed to be a reboot instead of a prequel. So which is it? is it possible for those who care to rise up against SONY and FOX? GIVE MARVEL THE RIGHTS BACK! We want to see some justice done to our favorite comics, but all those companies are giving us and MARVEL is injustice.

Hey Listen up Marvel!, I guess you should be able to tell by now, that a revolt is brewing with the choices your making in Marvel film adaptations!, It's convoluted dribble with no focus! your mix-up of the characters and periods confuses even the young ones who knew nothing about the original X-Men, you get so close then someone decides to Fart a big wet one that stains the whole of Marvel Universe....What in the Hell are you doing? Stan Lee should have his a$$ beaten standing by and allowing this to happen to the loyal fans some of whom you have been there for more that 65 yrs!! and made Marvel the giant that it was.(is?) what good is it just to turn a buck if no one will buy what your selling after a while?....I guess watch Bruce willis and Die hard series, at least they stayed with the orignal story-line consistantly, huh?!!, come on guys.....go get Stan, sit his old a$$ down and force him to show you how it's suppose play-out, we've suffered long enough in silence hoping you guys would catch a clue by now, plus we can only throw-up in our mouths for so long, before it becomes Projectile vomit, well it just happened in-case you've been reading the post that I have,I have always hate D.C Comics, but Damnnnnnnnn, your starting to make them look good (BatMan anyone?)

Agree with deadpool231172, the x-men movies were good when that was all we got, frankly Singer sucks and just ruined the Distinguished Competitions relaunch of their flagship character and Marvel wants him to continue ruining the X-Men franchise. WTF? Why can't Marvel get Fox and Sony to fold their franchises into Iron Man/Hulk/Avengers continuity. They would totally do better. As it is I may not see this new X-Men until it is on DVD/Blue ray as a protest. One other thing that probably isn't germane to this message board but I don't feel like finding the right one; quit hiring big name actors to play our beloved characters unless they agree to at least a 5 movie deal. The fact is most of us would have seen Hulk regardless of who played Bruce Banner. I'll never see an Ed Norton movie in theater again. Hugh Jackman was a nobody before the X-Men and has said he would play Wolverine as many times as he can. I continue to support his movies, even the crappy one which are surprisingly few. Just food for thought.

Boone.

Hey '' Marvel followers '' , I am lookin' forward of the next movie. But I have one question. What happened to followin' proper continuity ?In the '' Marvel prequel movies '' ( '' X - Origins : Wolverine '' & the next one ) we should have seen ( and see )the MOST BELOVED Jean Grey. Not Emma Frost.I am a HUGE fan of both these characters , but why mess up the timeline ?I like to think that most of you will agree with '' ol' Boone ''.That is my opinion.P.S. Jean Grey , Raven Darkholme , Emma Frost and Rogue rule !!!!

I agree. This movie is doomed to failure. They're taking the mistakes of X-Men Origins: Wolverine and multipyling them.

Already the problem with this movie is revealed. Too many characters. I can understand creating a "Brotherhood of Evil Mutants" with Magneto leading the villains, but the White Queen and Banshee are totally unnecessary elements to an "X-Men: First Class" movie. The more characters, the more diluted the character development. This movie is doomed to fail.

A prequel? Can you guys just hit the reset button on the whole x-men thing? lol Please?

I don't know who the casting directors are for this film are but they are doing this movie a disservice all ready. The only thing going for this X-men movie is Kevin Bacon playing the villian. Please for everything we love of Marvel cast him as Sabastion Shaw. I can slightly agree on Alice Eve as Emma Frost. Everything thing else should go back and be recast. I love the X-Men franchise, I feel that a prequel is going in the wrong direction. Either win over Brian Singer or gain another good Director that would strenthen another trillogy.

I'm in favor of erasing ALL X-Men movies so far and rewriting the whole thing, they (X-Men and X-2 that is) were pretty good when they came around but really, nowadays it feels like Power Rangers with much better actors and a decent budget, I like them still because I'm a fan of the X-Men, but I can related with anyone else who can't enjoy the movies, really, they felt somewhat "poor" failing in both action and storyline... And as most of you, Wolverine really wasn't as good as we expected and I dunno if it's just me, but it seems like Marvel is sorta lost with their mutants in the movies: check out the FIRST movie, you'll see Kitty Pride, and she seems to be at least 18 years old, it's a quick scene but okay, when we watch The Final Stand, Kitty is like a 12 years old or something (!!!), and now I read this article and there's talk of EMMA FROST?! She was imprisoned in Wolverine (remember a not-as-gorgeous-emma-frost who had no mental powers, or so it seemed, but DID turn into diamond???), now that girl might be around her 20 years old, but if Xavier is going to be that young in Fist Class, than wtf, she should be a baby if not a fetus!!! I know people tend not to grow old in comic books (or Star Wars and I'm looking at you Amidala!), but hey, this is more like "wow, I totally forgot this dude already showed up ion another movie". I don't care about being somewhat unfaithful to the comics, after all you'd need a TV series bigger than Star Trek if you wanted to be 100 per cent faithful, Batman totally ignored the comic books and turned out great; but hey, make it "believable", it doesn't haven to be a Sin City or Watchmen, but c'mon, at least try not to forget what was already done in other movies, it's a chronology matter, it's not that hard...

wolvie2010
wolvie2010

I dont think this casting looks to promising... let us hope that maybe the plot is ok.. I mean seriously James McAvoy as Prof X?! tsk... i'm not getting my hopes up too high... The only one who looks like they may fit the character is Caleb Landry Jones for Banshee

I created an account just to say this movie is going to suck almost as bad as ill_will's music on his myspace page. He cant even spell, what makes him think he could rap or write a movie. And how come all his friends on myspace are dudes with their shirts off? I wanna see a good X-men movie too, and this one sounds terrible, but not as terrible as ill_will's music. Why do all these fake thugs use message boards to promote thier crappy rap albums? And when did thugs start reading comics? I bet he just likes to look at the pictures. Anyways, movies made from comic books almost always suck, why would this one be any different. The sad part is I will still probably check it out, whats that say about me...
