The movie Avengers have assembled for the first time ever!

The Avengers, from left: Robert Downey Jr., Clark Gregg, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, director Joss Whedon and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige.
Tonight at San Diego Comic-Con 2010, the massive Marvel Studios panel featured fantastic footage from 2011's "Thor" and "Captain America: The First Avenger." But as mindblowing as it was to see both Cap and Thor come to life, the show stopper was the very last event of the panel: when Marvel assembled on one stage the lineup coming to 2012's super team movie, "Marvel Studios' The Avengers!"

That's right, Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man), Clark Gregg (Agent Phil Coulson), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Scarlett Johansson (The Black Widow), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America) as well as newcomers Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/The Incredible Hulk) and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) mounted the stage together to deafening noise!

The Avengers cast pose for photographers!
And to orchestrate all of this talent? The one and only Joss Whedon, director of this absolutely awesome cast.

Check out the great shots of the whole team here and stay tuned to Marvel.com for much more from this historic panel and San Diego Comic-Con 2010!

In addition to "Marvel Studios' The Avengers" coming May 4, 2012, Marvel Studios is also scheduled to release a slate of films based on the Marvel characters including "Thor" on May 2, 2011 and "Captain America: The First Avenger" on July 22, 2011. See "Iron Man 2" in theaters now.

personally...I'm extremely pissed that Edward Norton isn't the hulk...I loved his version...and you know what?? I don't think I'll watch the Avengers with him being left out. I was looking forward to this since I seen the small little hints but yeah..pretty much ruined it for me. Anyone wanna start a petition? lol

Seriously? That's Marvel Adventures Avengers, not the main continuity. Try reading the main stuff it's way better. Spidey and Wolvie have joined in very recent years though.

People forget that the Avengers have had guest members like Spider man!

Does anyone think Marvel even reads these comments?

Storm has never and is not a member of the Avengers.

Waitaminute... shouldn't Spider-Man, Wolverine, & Storm b in it? They r the most active members of the Avengers! That's not fair! They do not know what they're doing 2 comicbook movie adaptations anymore!

I think you're all missing the point that despite Sam Jackson being a great actor Nick Fury is white. Cracker, saltine freaking white. His first appearance in Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos #1 (1963) he is freaking white. As for the Wasp and Ant-Man... Why does anyone care? They're second string heroes at best. If they wanted to bring out the big guns they'd bring out Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, but they probably can't do that do to them being mainly X-Men characters and falling under the X-Men contract. Also, who cares about the Fantastic Four. If they were all that great they would've made the 3rd movie with Galactus... But they couldn't pull the ticket sells for that because no one really cares. A real money maker for Marvel would be putting out X-Force movies. Based on the current X-Force. They could start it off with the Messiah Complex and just go from there. I'd say start at House of M or Avengers Disassemble but again not fees-able do to the different companies owning right to different characters. That's my rant for today. Remember, Nick Fury is white. Screw the Ultimate Universe.

hey guys i totally agree with you guys Chris Evans should have stayed as human torch but he looks as a good fit for Cap. Next is Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk what the &&!& are u people thinking he is terrible leave it as Edward Norton or here's an idea don't put the Hulk in the movie everyone else is cool and look right for the part in the movie. But no wolverine why? And seriously don't make a remake of Fantastic 4 it's `perfect the way it is oh that also goes for Spider-Man just leave them alone they were awesome. True fans of marvel movies please help keep the movies and actors the same in future movies.

All of u who are upset about a possible FF/Avengers crossover movie, may as well give it up. You'll never see it happen, as long as different movie studios(20th Century Fox currantly owns the movie rights to FF) own the rights to those characters. The same thing goes for Spiderman in any future Avengers films. Never gonna happen as long as Sony owns the movie rights to Spidey and Disney/Marvel owns the rights to the Avengers(and the films that made up the team).

It all depends on story, pace, action, drama and most importantly.........acting. The effects SHOULD be top notch and The Hulk will undoubtedly be either the anchor or the frontline to CGI. The toughest element to sell to the fans (like myself) would be the costumes on Thor, Cap and Hawkeye (they should have went with Ant-Man and Wasp in my opinion).

Daring_Souls

Amazing cast put together. I'm not worried about Ruffalo being the NEW Hulk, and I'm sure the Human Torch actor will make a grand Captain America -- What I am concerned about is possibly NOT SEEING the GIANTMAN and WASP making an appearance. And what's with HAWKEYE without QUICKSILVER and SCARLET WITCH? See what you started, Marvel! Hahahaha!!

I really don't understand why we can't have an Avengers film with the ORIGINAL founding members and have other members introduced in the second and third film. The way it's looking now just seems a little too crowded with too many characters.

mkaden23
mkaden23

I can see that they won't be doing any collaborations with Fantastic Four and the Avengers as Chris Evans would either lose the shield, or we wouldn't have the Torch that we know to date

John Cena for Cap? What are you smoking? Are you an infant or a redneck? Chris is not a bad choice for Cap, there could be worse....like Cena. :) Chris is quite good in The Losers and a lot more buff than in F4. I think his going to make a good Cap.

Why is Hawkeye in the movie?maybe ant-man and wasp will have cameo's r be after the credits? What will this hulk look like will nver get it right to they do hulk like the clssic?

delimma17

i think Chris Evans was better of as the human torch/ johnny storm. as far as hawkeye/ Jeremy Renner, thor/ Chris Hemsworth, and the hulk/ Mark Ruffalo... they could have done better. i think channing tatum would be a better cap. just because of his physical size and hes a pretty good actor. chris klien would have been a better hawkeye. for thor i would have picked someone a lot bigger. thor was 6'6" 600 lbs. i would have went with someone like triple h maybe. and i will agree ed norton did pretty good as the hulk. i figured they would have brought him back. just my 2 cents though.

jrhafelein

I still Wish that Edward Norton could have kept his role as Dr Banner. He seemed to really pull it off with enthusiasm. I guess as long as the Hulk is not 100% re-invented again, that will help to lessen the difference...I wonder if there will be an event that brings about a transition to the Grey Hulk?

atariscrytoomuch
atariscrytoomuch

Way too bad about Norton... Wish we could have had him for Hulk 2 and the Avengers... Hope they bring Cap in towards the end of the movie... and decide to add in a little Antman & Waspwoman, that would make it more genuine... The first avenger film should have the original members in it as far as i'm concerned...

Still wondering about Ant-Man and Wasp. Perhaps they'll cameo in the first film and be added for the inevitable sequel.

Whoa! Thats awesome! but where are you Ed Norton? Mark Ruffalo as Hulk? hmmm. very interesting...I can't wait!!!

monkeyman721

are you joking robert32514, john cena would be so terrible as captain america, you would'nt know a good captain america if it hit you in the face! evans is a good choice, but my vote was 4 matt damon. also ed norton droped out of the hulk role, they did'nt kick him out. ruffalo is a good choice.renner just ruined hawk-eye 4 me.

robert32514
robert32514

John Cena is a much better choice for Captain America. Chris Evans has already done 2 marvel films as Johnny Storm aka the Human torch. I say drop Chris, call up John, and we'll be square.

Now I have to Reconcile my hate for Hawkeye and My enjoyment of Jeremy Renner's acting I hope his costume Is more like Ultimate Hawkeye and less like 616 Hawkeye or exactely like Ronin. Marc Ruffalo is a Good actor so him as Banner should be good too though, This Movie should be Great with Joss at the Helm.

I hope this guy pulls Banner off well. I was loving Norton.

Its disappointing they took out Ed Norton, but its still awsome to see the Avengers movie coming along. By the way, what about Ant-man and the Wasp? They are one of the founding Avengers! I hope they are in it.

Alright peeps! I am hyped! Love the look of it, just wish our resident B Banner were a little on the small geeky side! Where's ant head?? ha

srasb1129
srasb1129

Until they cast a geekie looking actor, they will never get the casting of Bruce Banner right. Someone in the mold of Tobey Maguire. I realize he has already done Spider-Man, so he shouldn't be cast as Banner; but someone of similar build. Anyone along the lines of the cast of The Big Bang Theory. As long as their acting talents reach beyond comedy.

valkyrie71

Aw come on!! Ed Norton will always be the best Hulk in my book. Bana was okay... But, Norton not being in this one, that's cold with a capital C.

Dude, this has Whedon's imprint on it!!! It will live up to the hype like the two animated movies I got!!!

As a HUGE fan of Bruce Banner, I have to say that I'm extremely disappointed that Norton won't be returning; his performance was genius. I will however give Ruffalo his chance to prove himself.

geoffreyclark

They should be doing anything and everything possible to get Ed Norton back as the Hulk. I am assuming that this unveiling means that they can't do anything about that now. That Hulk movie was awesome. I do find it strange that Favreau isn't directing. Somebody on here said that his Iron Man movies are the entire reason this is possible and I would tend to agree.
