Very disappointed in the decisions that were made for not making the Bluray/dvd/digital copy combo for Thor: The Dark World. We refuse to buy anything else but that. Start considering to make it, your losing a lot of business because of this. Why make the combo pack for the other movies and just stop it at this movie. Definitely should reconsider making one.

Why are so many people griping at Marvel for the combo pack? They should be looking at Paramount and Disney for that problem. If people would actually read the credits, the Avengers heroes are licensed under Disney and published by Paramount. Marvel just owns the names and images. So stop whining already, or whine to someone else.

I am taking my combo pack back to Wal-Mart.  If they don't give me my money back, I'll just buy my groceries at Kroger.  Marvel should be proud of itself for stabbing its customers in the back.  I used to go see Marvel movies twice to artificially inflate its viewership, but Marvel has made it clear that ripping off its fan base is the main objective.  I thought Disney was making an authentic combo pack standard; at least that was the advertisement when Up came out on Blu-Ray, DVD.

Also, I couldn't care less about the digital download...I don't want to join another place that I need to give all my information to in order to view the video that I "bought".

I'm very disappointed that you didn't make the dvd/blu-ray combo pack. I don't know when I'll buy the movie or which kind, but I have one blu-ray at home, but my computer, mini-van, vacation rooms, parents home DO NOT have a blu-ray and the combo packs were great for those of us with both formats. I don't want a 3D version even though my tv will show it. I was really looking forward to getting the movie, but I don't like the choices...

So how about next time you guys just put all the features onto every copy of the movie and just stick to doing exclusive covers instead? Sound good? Yeah, sounds good.

First no DVD in the Combo Pack, and now they are spreading featurettes across different retailers; is there any other way Marvel can screw with this release?

I had already decided not to buy Thor: The Dark World until it is in the bargain bin because of the messed up combo pack, and this stupidity hasn't changed my mind. I just hope Marvel will be smarter with their releases of Captain America:The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy.

I don't care myself if one store has a special feature while another one has something else.  What DOES have my blood boiling is that they aren't making a blu-ray/dvd combo set.  There is the 3D blu-ray/blu-ray, then blu-ray, and then dvd.  Now I have to spend more to get a copy of the blu-ray and a copy of the dvd and put them in a different dvd case to have my own combo pack.  I just hope that this doesn't become a trend with Marvel dvds.

Is not right to try make the fans to choose one extra from another retailer is of bad taste and an insult to the buyer. This is greedy from the makers.  The 3D & Blu-ray must contain all the extras.  So disappointed.

I buy the Blu-Ray/DVD instead of renting them so I can enjoy the bonus features. Spreading the exclusive featurettes across THREE different retailers is soooo not cool. Maybe I'll get the best one and check the rest on youtube or something. :-(

I'm actually kinda enjoying the digital copy from Vudu - has pretty much all the special features of disk - which is rare indeed. I mean I would buy digital copies over physical if I knew I could get at least the featurettes and deleted scenes and the Marvel One Shots - commentaries would be nice too - but I figure I can always live without or wait until the inevitable bargain before Christmas!

Dislike how you are forcing the consumer to select the store if they want a specific feature. The 3D edition should contain all the features, and if insist on having a difference then make it the release date (like the digital version) or just add this to the standard blu-ray. If I spend top dollar on a version (3D) I would expect it to contain everything.

The various exClusive pacKaging i don't mind, but Spreading out the featureTtes is just dOwnright annoying. Paramount did the same thing with Star Trek Into Darkness. :-/

Disney doesnt release the movies... Disney may have bought marvel, but marvel is still its own name and releases under its own name, otherwise the Disc would say "Disney Blu-ray" like all the others do.

@sr240sx  The Digital Copy is not UltraViolet, I'm holding it in my hands right now. I'm about to upload it with iTunes onto my iPad.

@glennbo216  Ya. If Marvel is too cheap to package a separate DVD with the combo pack, I suggest two discs: the first disc has 3D-Bluray on one-side with DVD on the other side, and the second disc has 2D Blu-Ray with the bonus features. Savvy?

TheRealLoki

The 3d/bluray combo has all hail the king, a marvel short, ext/del scenes, a look at winter soldier, a feature about thor and loki, A feature about the soundtrack, and an audio commentary

@NickNoelRyder i got all that buying it from the Playstation store. it is in HD and it has all the Bonus features with the exception of commentary track. that may not be an option for you but it is there.

@Agent_DVD ^This. I don't mind different retailers having different slipcases, but all of the editions should have the same featurettes.

@TheRealLoki Disney usually does things right...they should have oversight on Blu-ray and DVD disc releases in the future.

The redemption code came in an insert on the inside of the case, you just go to more.marvel.com/thor like it says and redeem the code on the website. The digital copy and your retailer specific extras should then download like mine did in itunes.
