What is the issue with the last three Spiderman being British. Marvel is American. Peter Parker is American.  I don't see the studios casting an American as James Bond.  To the extent Sony has a problem casting an American in an American created comic, in an American role, it probably has problems with me. Until an American is cast as Peter Parker, I will be boycotting. I am not pandering to this blatant anti-Americanism. Apparently, only the British can play a young boy from Queens, New York. Wow.

Allthough this rises an interesting question in my mind. Now that you (Marvel) have some sorta rights to make Spider-Man movies for MCU, i was wondering that can this kinda deal been made with 20th Century Fox for bringing X-Men and Fantastic Four into MCU aswell ?

Hmm, i don't know to what to think about this. I'm still very sceptical for a new Spidey movie, thanks to that garbage known as The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

 This is good, but Marvel are doing it all wrong! Marvel have A WHOLE OTHER COMPANY at their disposal. Why don't Marvel use Sony's resources so rather than making 2 films every year, they can make 4 as the (solo) films have almost completely different casts and Sony don't have to have anything to do with the film as Marvel will appoint their own directors and producers, etc. They only need to give Sony a small amount of the income and that's it. Think about this, we could have a new Avengers film every other year! Also the same can be said about the TV series they are making. They can have spin-offs, they would have been able to get all the solo Netflix series over and done with by the end of this year is if they had planned the scripts and cast and done this deal with Sony. Marvel, THINK!!! Also I'm a big fan of all your films and TV series.  

On second note, I am SUPER PHYSIC that Marvel and Sony are teaming up for Spider-Man.

Idea for a Stan Lee cameo: You know that scene in the preview for Age of Ultron where everyone is trying to pick up Thor's hammer? What if the end credit scene was Stan Lee cleaning up the room and when he has to dust off the table he just picks up the hammer, dusts underneath it, and puts it back down, not even realizing what he just did.

Spidey should've been part of MCU from start, he has got such a big role the marvel comics. I guess better late than never, i just can't wait to see spidey running around with the rest of the big heroes, the best bit is that spidey is so bad ass in the Civil War, and thats the first movie we get to see him in. I just can't wait to see how this new Spider-Man franchise plans out as they are going with the story line where he is 14 and in High School. Thank you SPE and MCU for teaming up and giving the fans what they want.

A serious suggestion - Marvel and Sony should make a note of it.

Spider-man's character should be played by "Hrithik Roshan" a leading Bollywood actor (India). 

Reasons, why he is suitable - 

1) Height - Unlike old teenage spidermans, who were short, a long spiderman has much better fighting skills/ much more scope to kick out villains(balanced act) + Hrithik is famous for his action stunts in the Bollywood industry. His look/stare is just like Jason Statham but Hrithik looks much much younger - so fits the bill. He can dance like a pro as well. {Watch his couple of movies to believe my perception of Hrithik playing Spider Man :- Dhoom2, Koi Mil Gaya, KKrish}

2) Musuclar/ Manly Body  - He can make all other super heroes sweat (That is what the spidy fans want, isn't it - Ultimate Spiderman). 

3) Emotional Acting - He is the best in this department. He can very well explore the emotions of Peter Parker (the inside of a humble/ loving/ always trying to correct the things and people with the minimalistic feeling of hurting anyone) 

4) Indian, APAC & International fans - He is very famous in India and outside. Collections will get a boom-boost. 

5) Spiderman-Hrithik combination would be GODLY. 

6) He speaks excellent English. 

@ssavhingala For this story-line they are going for the 14 year old Peter Parker who is still in high school and Hrithik Roshan looks a little to old for the role. He would be a good older Spidey but probably not the best choice for the role they are looking for.

He dream role is to play Spiderman, he has the humor on Teen Wolf (even admitted his improvises it), has the body structure, features, everything. He can even pull off being serious (like in the maze runner). He can also do awkward Peter Parker. So pleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleasePLEASE cast him! Idc if he's in his early twenties, no guy looks old until their mid-thirties. SPREAD IT THE HASKTAG!!!

i'm very disappointed in sony and marvel that the amazing spider man will not be made anymore i loved everything about them the storylines the actors and the music the actor that played spider man did his job absolutely perfectly his aunt mai was perfect these was very emotional gripping films how can they just stop them in there tracks?

As strange as it may sound, one of the first villains which Spider-Man will ever face in his own trilogy from Marvel and Sony, might have already been revealed, I'm pretty sure you guys are aware of Marvel's brand new Daredevil Netflix tv series, and it was confirmed it's set in Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), basically its part of the MCU just like Agent Carter and Agents of Shield, basically all these tv shows take place at MCU, we all know it, and here comes the interesting and probably the most exciting part, just recently in case you haven't seen it yet, Marvel released an official trailer for the Daredevil and of course besides all this cool stuff in the trailer, we also got a glimpse of the Kingpin, that's right and since this series are set in MCU, this is Marvel's Kingpin, he is also Spidey's Kingpin, that's right. So the Kingpin is already revealed and the Kingpin hasn't been used once for a Spidey film, he's a fresh villain and I wouldn't be surprized if Spidey will face Kingpin among the first villains he will ever fight in the brand new Spider-Man reboot, I wouldn't be also surprized if Spidey teams up with Daredevil in his own solo film, Spidey and Daredevil are friends since like forever, if Daredevil will ask Spidey for help, Spidey will have some a very short role or just a guest appearance on the Daredevil tv series. Well think of all the possibilities, think of all the stuff which is possible of Spider-Man joining MCU and Kingpin once again very excited, he could be not necessarily a villain to fight with, he can be a mastermind type of villain who will actually manipulate with other villains.

Hindsight is always 20/20, but can you imagine how this (the Spidey franchise) would have turned out, if Marvel would have done the film(s) in the first place?

It seems that we will see the new Spider-Man in his first appearance in Captain America: Civil War, so if you can't wait to see the brand new Spider-Man, it's Captain America: Civil War which will be released in May 6, 2016, that's when Spidey will make an appearance. Captain America: Civil War is about to start shooting, I highly doubt that they will re-write the whole story, as we know and as we heard previously, Black Panther was suppose to take the role of Spidey, a guy in between Iron Man and Captain America, in between the whole conflict, it seems that Black Panther still will play a crucial part in this story, but that being said it's not like Spider-Man won't make an appearance there, most likely it will be a brief role some sort of an introduction role, maybe a team-up between him and Black Panther or maybe he will pop up in the post credit scene, but it will be Captain America: Civil War, not Avengers: Age of Ultron, we're pretty sure they still can include some Easter egg or some mention of Spidey in Avengers: Age of Ultron, that will be logically seeing how they just announced it and they still have time to edit the film and throw Spider-Man into one of the post credit scene in there. One thing is for sure Marvel will somehow have to make some changes to Captain America: Civil War story, whether it's a brief role for Spidey, I think he deserves some sort of role, not just an Easter egg, not just a mention of him, definitely we will see him full body costume and the brand new Peter Parker will be played by a new actor and that's Civil War and then Spidey will have his own solo film which will be released in 2017, it's interesting to know that the leaked emails actually revealed the potential way of how exactly they might introduce Spider-Man in Civil War.

Spider-Man has already joined Marvel Studios, this means Marvel will bring in the younger teenage version of Peter Parker who is at high school, no new origin story, Peter will already be Spider-Man at the beginning and they won't focus on the love story, just spidey being an every day superhero. The new Spider-Man which will be now part of the MCU, will first appear in a Marvel movie and then later on, Spidey will appear in his own solo film on July 28, 2017. A movie will be co-produced by Kevin Feige, his team at Marvel Studios and Amy Pascal who just recently announced she quits her co-chairman position at Sony Pictures and she will start her own production company. So this is it, Sony Pictures Entertainment Brings Marvel Studios Into The Amazing World Of Spider-Man, it was reveal that Sony Pictures will continue to finance, distribute the film and have a final creative control over the future Spider-Man films, but of course they are now working with Marvel team. This means most likely almost guaranteed that Spider-Man will pop up, not only one MCU film, he will appear in many future other Marvel films as a guest or he'll have a bigger role, Captain America: Civil War, unlikely, it's about to start shooting and the only way they can include him in Civil War is by giving a credits scene or some Easter egg or some mention of Spidey in there, but this is very very exciting and we're getting a solo film which will be released like two years from now on July 28, 2017, after Spider-Man pops up in a MCU film.

I understand why Marvel, a company that was once on the brink of financial ruin, would decide to sell off the movie rights t o some of its more famous titles.

But why did it have to be a close-ended deal where Marvel never got the rights back sooner?  I mean with characters like Spidey, the Hulk, Daredevil, the F.F., etc. all having mixed success with other studios, I think that Marvel would have done better.  Just an opinion.

It may have been desperate and only possible move that marvel could take, not to go bankrupt.

AlSo i have kind of a fun idea, just to throw it out there for one of the future spider-man movieS. If you want to introduce diFferent spider-men or spider-woman maybe try something like that game spider-man shattered dimensions. It can be simIlar to the game but instead of the symbiote spider-man use miles morAles in the line up with 2099, Noir, and maybe even Ben reily (He's one of my favorite spider-mEn). JuSt a thought. :)

@Punisher-777 Yeah I agree. Miles is definitely my second favorite spidey (Peter is #1), and I really want him to go to the movies, but bringing him now would be a bad idea. Maybe they could have Peter in Civil War, and have him unmask. Then maybe they could have him die somehow in the solo movie, and somewhere bring in Miles

@absorbio @Punisher-777 It's been a while since I've read any of the books pertaining to "Civil War" or the Death of Peter Parker/Spider-man.  Having said that, if Peter Parker was alive & part of this story arc, then yeah, Peter should be in the movie.

My issue, though, would be what age Spider-Man is in the movie ~ IMHO, I think it should be an older Peter P.

@amad4 It makes sense to bring Tobey Maguire back. 1) People Joe public know him. 2) Be awesome for the unmasking in Civil War instead of a new guy, plus he needs to be a mature Spidey by then, not some new face kid no one cares about. 3) Spider-Man 2 is one of the best superhero movies ever made and best Spidey movie. 4) = J K Simmons - no brainer ;) :P

After all, Spidey's supposed to be seasoned by the time civil war comes about, a teenage high school Spidey wont cut it or be right in the civil war. And of course (heh) J.K. Simmons is a must for JJJ again, no one can touch that role like he did, no one.
