By Nick Mercurio

With "Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow" ready to introduce a whole new pack of super powered kids into the Marvel pantheon, what better time than now to take a look back on some of Marvel's most terrific tykes?!

And while we're at it, we'll point you to a great comic you can read right now in Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited! Let's get right to it!

FRANKLIN RICHARDS:
SON OF A GENIUS
IN TONS OF FUN #1

Franklin & Valeria Richards

As the children of the Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman, these kids have already had their fair share of epic adventures. Franklin was abducted by the near-omnipotent Onslaught, sent to hell and he even subbed in for Galactus on one occasion. Valeria was miscarried the first time around and after being restored to her mother's womb was delivered by the one and only Dr. Doom, who cast a spell on her and used her to spy on the Fantastic Four. And just recently, they were trapped in the Negative Zone by the Skrulls during Secret Invasion. Guess it comes with the territory when you're part of Marvel's first family.

POWER PACK
v2 #1

Power Pack

Four kids under the age of thirteen with no parental supervision and some pretty hefty super powers—how could this not be a good idea? But with a sense of responsibility and a heroic streak well beyond their years, the four Power siblings have proven to be one formidable team. Possessing the ability to control aspects of energy, mass, acceleration and gravity, the four children have worked with everyone from Thor and Beta Ray Bill to X-Factor and Galactus' former herald Nova. For a while fellow super kid Franklin Richards even joined their illustrious ranks.

RUNAWAYS v1 #1

Runaways

This happy-go-lucky group of chums used to see each other once a year when their parents got together to make a human sacrifice to the monstrous Gibborim. Of course, as far as the kids knew, that get-together was an annual charity fundraiser. But when the truth came out they banded together, stopped their parents and are now unregistered super heroes on the run. Among their ranks is the son of Ultron, a Super-Skrull in training, and a dinosaur. That sounds like a safe mix, right?

YOUNG
AVENGERS #1

Young Avengers

Handpicked from the Avengers Failsafe Program by an adolescent Kang the Conqueror to stop his future self, these kids were selected by the Vision to be the next wave of Avengers should the need for such a team ever arise. Moving from fighting Kang to Mister Hyde to the Kree and the Skrulls, and then jumping straight into Civil War and becoming government fugitives, they give a whole new meaning to the term "baptism by fire." And with both Avengers teams hopping around in the Savage Land, the first wave of the Secret Invasion fell squarely on their shoulders. These guys just can't catch a break!

AMAZING
SPIDER-GIRL #1

Amazing Spider-Girl

Ever think about how cool it would be to have Spider-Man as a dad? Well in an alternate future that's a reality for May Parker, and she's got the spider powers to prove it! But with Peter losing his leg in a fight with the Green Goblin and Mary Jane losing countless hours of sleep over the years, May's parents were done with the whole super hero thing. So she did what any high school kid would do and snuck out…To fight crime. But when a girl roughly the same age as your daughter starts swinging around town with your powers, two and two put themselves together pretty quickly. However after a heated debate, the amazing Spider-Girl now comes with parental approval, and a new training regimen from dear old dad. Looks like Mary Jane is going to be catching up on the late, late, late show again.

Pre-order "Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow" now on DVD and Blu-ray and find it in stores on Tuesday, Sept. 2. Plus, be sure to check out the official "Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow" hub on MarvelKids.com!

these characters work because they have their own histories and stories. most young characters are just the regular character in daipers.

In the movie it tells you that Wasp and Giant man, Captain America and Black Widow formed a kid. But who formed the others? The Black Panther is easy because you can see that the mother is Storm....
