When Wolverine's former love, a Japanese woman named Yuriko, stumbles into the Morlock tunnels, she discovers that an alien treasure is buried somewhere in the area. She lures Wolverine and the X-Men into the tunnels with hopes that she can use their abilities to uncover the treasure.
