As if you needed another reason to pick up your controllers and jam on some "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2" again, a slew of new characters and sim missions are on their way to Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers. We'll have weekly spotlights on each new character with screenshots, video and quotes from the folks behind the games, and today Black Panther, the King of Wakanda, is our star!
Adam Olshan, Lead Animator for Vicarious Visions, on Black Panther:
As a super hero, Black Panther combines high-tech gadgetry, mastery of nearly all combat styles and supernatural agility and strength. This formula posed challenges, but also opened the door for the team to create a diverse moveset. Whether he's peppering enemies with rapid slashing melee attacks, energy daggers or leaping acrobatic powers, Black Panther exudes incredible quickness and deadly force.
We spoke with Marvel early on to include the Ebony Blade as part of his arsenal. The sword plays an integral role in some of Black Panther's fusions, power moves and even his melee attacks. Because it's a hand-wielded weapon, we were able to use it to accentuate Panther's innate physical abilities and hand-to-hand combat skill.

The point of me saying all of this is that I think instead of making people PAY for these new characters for MUA2, They should just make new skins or make them free downloadable characters. I mean, either way, its gonna be all the same right? Even the previews of "Cable Spotlight" and all that, it shows the same moves. :][/quote:2b11886d04]I dunno... Most ...

Most games recycle the same moves with slight variations. I'm a fighting game enthusiast, and most fighting game characters don't radically change over time with very few exceptions, such as Jin Kazama from Tekken 3 to Tekken 4.I think the buyability comes in the following:New graphicsNew gameplay systemsNew storylinesYeah, a lot of moves are rehashed and borrowed. The good news is, eventually, they'll HAVE to create new moves to support an ever-expanding roster of characters. For instance, if they ever put Black Panther and Nightcrawler in the same game, then they won't be able to give them both the same move; they'll have to think up something new.So just give it time, and it should smooth out.
