Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 DLC Character Spotlight on Magneto

As if you needed another reason to pick up your controllers and jam on some "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2" again, a slew of new characters and sim missions are now available to Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers. We've have weekly spotlights on each new character with screenshots, video and quotes from the folks behind the games, and today Magneto is our star!

Adam Olshan, Lead Animator at Vicarious Visions, on
Magneto:

Magneto and Spider-Man in "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2"
Magneto doesn't hit you directly; instead he literally throws everything in the room at you, including the kitchen sink (cast-iron, preferably).  During the development of Magneto's powers, we kept a couple words in mind: Control and Destroy.  Magneto destroys his enemies by controlling the environment and objects around them.  There's a physical disconnect there, which posed a challenge.  Our fx team did a phenomenal job rendering Magneto's power set, literally ripping the environment apart in the process.

The animators paid close attention to Magneto's personality throughout the Marvel canon.  Magneto is generally depicted as in control and almost regal, as if what he does takes almost no effort.  The team really pushed getting those poses from the Marvel pages and into the game.

And we have a bonus for you! Along with new playable characters, the "MUA2" DLC features new Simulation Missions! Here's a little 411, straight from the Sim Mission source!

Alex Kerr, Community Manager at Vicarious Visions, on Overload:

Without spoiling too much, once we knew our roster for this DLC pack, one character was just screaming for an epic boss fight. We can't give too much away, but fans of the mass combat and huge, end-of-act boss battles in "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2" are going to be very, very happy.

Dan Doptis, Scenario Designer at Vicarious Visions, on Escort Duty:

For this mission, we have the heroes teaming up with [a] "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2" fan-favorite ally—the large White Star robot—through a series of obstacles and enemies. The robot works his way towards his end goal with complete disregard for environmental hazards and threats. It's up to the heroes to make up for his lack of intelligence and ensure he arrives safely at his end location with as few dents and scratches as possible!
