On Saturday morning, September 19, "The Super Hero Squad Show" burst onto television screens across the nation on Cartoon Network to rave reviews and a huge audience. It instantly became the Network's #1 show for Boys 6-8 and has continued its heroic growth in that demographic, increasing that audience by nearly 30%.
Thanks to the tremendous success the show has seen on Saturday mornings, the greatest super heroes in the Marvel Universe are ready to make the leap to primetime! Starting this past Saturday, November 7, "The Super Hero Squad Show" made its heroic debut on Saturday nights at 7:30 PM as part of Cartoon Network's incredible prime time line-up.

This is a vital step to cross-over consumers.I am going to college to get my business degree and another in accounting and will be opening my shop in 2012. So I definitely have a vested interest in a new wave of comic book fans.I have a niece (that is 8.) and a nephew (5) who have been interested in characters like The Hulk, Spider-Man, and Wolverine from the movies, but those movies weren't geared to them, and didn't expose them to the vast amount of characters in the Marvel Universe that the Super Hero Squad show does. The SHSS has already introduced the Iron Fist and Luke Cage, Dr Strange, The Dread Dormammu, and Nick Fury. It has also featured lesser known characters (to the Mainstream audience anyways, lol) such as Songbird, MODOK and The Enchantress. Heck, the show features characters like Reptyl, Falcon and the Silver Surfer on a regular basis in addition to all the mainstream audience darlings introduced via movies.Both my niece and nephew are both asking for comic books, and I am going to be getting them some, and they are thrilled about that.Now, really, if that show brings entertainment to people of all ages (I'm 27 and a hardcore Marvel Zombie), and all exposures of comic books (My Brother in law is 30 and hasn't really ready ANY comics, but still gets a kick out of the show.), then what is the problem?Do you really think one half hour show a day based (loosely) in the Marvel U is truly a bad thing for kids, and is better than NOT having it around, solely because you don't care for it?

I completely disagree. One of the great things about comics is that they allow kids to use their imagination while expanding their reading level. I feel that this show is dumbing down these characters and their stories. There is no reason for that. My 8 year old son has been reading regular earth-616 Marvel comics since he was 4. I completely disagree. One of the great things about comics is that they allow kids to use their imagination while expanding their reading level. I feel that this show is dumbing down these characters and their stories. There is no reason for that. My 8 year old son has been reading regular earth-616 Marvel comics since he was 4. He reads on a 8th grade reading level now. I attribute this to guys like Ed Brubaker and Brian Bendis writing complex stories that actually challenge a child and make them better readers. While kids his age are watching these shows, my son wants to know when the next issue of "Immortal Weapons" is coming out. All this show is doing is catering to kids that aren't being challenged.

good news, I think its a great kids show that has some good adult humor. My only complaint about the show is that Iron man is the leader and not Captain America. I understand Iron Man is more well known among kids, but it just doesn't make sense.
