UPDATE: Catch the Spider-Man balloon in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, airing on NBC at 9:00 AM in all time zones tomorrow, November 26. Spidey will make his appearance at 9:55, following the Great American Marching Band, and will be the very first balloon!

With the countdown to turkey day on, the return of the Spider-Man balloon to The Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade draws ever closer.
Attendees to last weekend's Macy's 2009 Balloonfest at New York's Flushing Meadows Park got the first glimpse of Spidey as he prepared for his monumental comeback. Good thing we were there, too, to bring youall the action!

This year, a new Spider-Man balloon will take to the skies above New York City along with many of the popular favorites from years past in one of the biggest street parades of all time.
Those who remember the previous incarnation designed by comics legend John Romita Sr. will surely recognize the classic pose—albeit with a slight makeover. This time Spidey's sporting a more modern looking costume and his signature webslinger hand gesture!
The 29.1 foot tall Spidey balloon's next stop will be another traditional New York holiday event, the inflation of all the balloons in Central Park on Thanksgiving Eve.

There it will stay overnight and await its turn to step off on Thanksgiving Day 2009 in the 83rd annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Tune in and keep an eye out as the all new super cool 78-feet long, 37.8-feet wide Spider-Man balloon makes its way toward Herald Square!

I watched the parade for the first time in years when I heard webhead was back. Now if we can Add a Captain America balloon next year, we"d be all set!
I wish i could see that in person it looks really cool
I too think Captain America would be the best choice for the parade next year.
I for one am glad the Spidey balloon is back. I wish Marvel would put the Marvel Superheroes float back in the parade.
YAWWWNNN, Marvel needs to show cahones and make a float of Captain America and Iron Man being that THIS is the future of Marvel films. I'm tired of Spider-man's whiney crap, we need to get the other characters out there.
