Captain America & Bucky Cast for 'The First Avenger: Captain America' Film

Marvel Studios has officially confirmed that Chris Evans will star as Captain America and Sebastian Stan will portray Cap's sidekick Bucky in the studio's highly anticipated movie "The First Avenger: Captain America," directed by Joe Johnston from a script penned by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely.

Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige will produce "The First Avenger: Captain America."  Alan Fine, Stan Lee, David Maisel, Stratton Leopold and Louis D'Esposito will executive produce.  The film will be released in the US on July 22, 2011 and distributed by Paramount Pictures.

"The First Avenger: Captain America" will focus on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America.

Chris Evans will next star in Sylvain White's "The Losers." He will also star in Edgar Wright's "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World." He recently wrapped production on "Puncture" and he will soon start production on "What's Your Number."  Evans' previous credits include starring as Johnny Storm in the "Fantastic Four" films, Danny Boyle's "Sunshine" and David Ayer's "Street Kings."

Sebastian Stan can currently be seen in "Hot Tub Time Machine," and will appear in "The Apparition" as well as Darren Aronofsky's "Black Swan," both slated for 2010. His previous credits include roles on the NBC drama "Kings" and CW's "Gossip Girl."

In addition to "The First Avenger: Captain America," Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on the Marvel characters including the highly anticipated sequel, "Iron Man 2," starring Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow on May 7, 2010; "Thor" on May 6, 2011; and "The Avengers" on May 4, 2012.

Alright, at first I too, was against Chris Evans, not because he's a bad actor, on the contrary, he's not. Just the fact that he played the Torch, and if a crossover ever happened, well just poor judgement. But if there will be a remake of FF, then it's not a bad choice. What Zach Effron that would be a disaster. Ya Chris Evans has played the Human torch but Marvel is rebooting the F4. So i think he will do good playing the role of Captain America.

none of u kn what yr talkin abt chris evans will make a great cap he is built right and he isnt to big of an acor to ruin the movie but hes a really good actor and i think he will be great and who ever in this world think john cena should be cap needs to be medicated hes by far the worse actor on the planet
