X-Men: First Class Casting Announcements

Attention all X-Fans! We've got the scoop on who will be appearing in "X-Men: First Class," the next film in the "X-Men" saga and prequel to the original trilogy! And don't forget, "X-Men: First Class" opens on June 3, 2011!

Award-winning actor Kevin Bacon will be appearing in the film as a currently unnamed villain!  Known for his roles in blockbuster titles "Footloose" and "Apollo 13," Mr. Bacon is sure to wow the crowds in the latest X-Men flick!

Before we introduce you to the rest of the cast, it would be hard to begin without first identifying the man who brought all the X-Men together, Professor Charles Xavier!  The young Xavier will be portrayed by "Wanted" star James McAvoy as he struggles with the awesome power of his mutant mind!

Veteran actor Michael Fassbender will be doing some heavy lifting as Erik Lensherr, the man who would later become Magneto, the Master of Magnetism!  Much like Magneto, Fassbender has witnessed the impact of war in the hit HBO miniseries "Band of Brothers," as well as in Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds."

Actress Jennifer Lawrence will also be appearing as the blue bombshell, Mystique! Jennifer is a well-versed actress known for her roles in "Winter's Bone" and "The Bill Engvall Show," so she should have no trouble adapting to Mystique's ever-changing form in "X-Men: First Class"!

The young Nicholas Hoult will light up the screen as everyone's favorite braniac, Dr. Henry "Hank" McCoy, better known as Beast!  Beast is an asset to the team not just by his brains, but also by his brawn!  It's a good thing that Hoult has seen some action in the 3D epic "Clash of the Titans," so he's no stranger to the serious butt kicking that's sure to come!

Fresh from the award-winning "No Country For Old Men" comes Caleb Landry Jones, who will be appearing among the X-Men as the master of sound, Banshee! Capable of projecting a wide range of sonic frequencies, Banshee's power is almost limitless, so Caleb will have some pretty loud pipes to fill when "X-Men: First Class" hits theaters!

Make way for the White Queen, Marvelites, as actress Alice Eve takes on the role of Emma Frost!  Alice was most recently seen in this summer's hit "Sex and the City 2" as well as alongside stars Harrison Ford and Ray Liotta in "Crossing Over."  Something tells me that she wont need Emma's telepathic powers to hypnotize moviegoers; her stunning beauty will take care of that!

So who will be the force behind all of these stars as they take on the roles of those uncanny X-Men?  None other than Matthew Vaughn will be leading the charge as the film's director!  You've may have already seen his work as on "Kick-Ass," so there is no doubt that his talents fit the bill! And back as producer is "X-Men" and "X2" director Bryan Singer!

Don't fret, True Believers!  This isn't the last you've heard about the X-Men's latest and greatest!  Make sure you stay tuned to Marvel.com for more news and with San Diego Comic-Con just days away, get ready to hear much more about all Marvel movies!

What!! this is not first class, emma frost and havok aren't that old and where are the 5 originals... Brian Singer left the X-Men for Superman and nearly destroyed that DC character, and now he returns to marvel to completing the destruction of the x-men in movies, it looks like he and the fox are just picking randomly x-men caracters regardless of their stories lines and their chronology in ...

I love X-Men, but this movie is going to suck! How are you going to have X-Men First Class without Scott and Jean, but with Emma Frost and Angel Salvadore? I just read the Yahoo movie update. I think that really blows. It was bad enough how they did them in the Wolverine movie. It hurts me to see such a great comic picked apart.
