Wolverine #57 Preview

Untitled Image
By Eric Drumm Following the status quo-shattering "Evolution" arc by Jeph Loeb and Simone Bianchi, the 'Ol Canucklehead embraces the berserker rages of Marc Guggenheim and Howard Chaykin. And When it comes to Wolverine, they ain't no rookies, bub. Chaykin penciled the classic 1989 graphic novel WOLVERINE/NICK FURY: THE SCORPIO CONNECTION, while Guggenheim cemented his place as one of Marvel's top writers after penning Wolverine's acclaimed CIVIL WAR tie-in arc, "Vendetta." And Guggenheim can't wait to come back to the book. "This is a very different story than 'Vendetta' by nature of its subject matter. Structurally, it's similar to 'Vendetta' as in each chapter sort of had its own twist or cliffhanger and in some cases, both," he says of his upcoming run. Now, what kind of guy would Guggenheim be if he didn't bring his pals along with him? Taking over for Simone Bianchi on the pencils is none of than Guggenheim's BLADE partner in vamp killing, Howard Chakyin! Bringing their synergy to the pages of WOLVERINE, issue #57 is to be sharper than a foot-long adamantium claw. Check out this preview art that is so slasheriffic, it might just send you in a berserker rage. And grab Marc Guggenheim and Howard Chaykin's first issue, WOLVERINE #57, on sale September 5.
