Real Name: Thor Odinson
Alignment: Hero
Brief Bio: After angering his father Odin, the lord of Asgard, Thor was sentenced to live among mortals in the body of Donald Blake in hopes of finding humility. Upon finding his ancient hammer Mjolnir, Donald Blake unleashed the Thunderer inside. Ever since, Thor has stood beside Earth’s most powerful heroes as a champion of truth, justice and honor. He has fought men, mutants, monsters, aliens and evil beings from every realm and still stands tall as one of the greatest heroes of them all.
Powers: Super-strong, Thor can go toe-to-toe with the Hulk. If that wasn’t enough, he can fly and command the rain, thunder and lightning!
Play Style: Thor needs to get in close to do damage but when he gets in there, watch out! Mighty Strike and Mighty Smash can help him close the distance while attacking and if Mighty Smash connects, you get a free ground bounce for free punishment. His Mighty Tornado command grab can be comboed out of into some terrifying aerial shenanigans but the trick is landing that first hit. His 8-way air dash can be canceled, helping to surprise enemies, and his Mighty Thunder hyper is incredibly versatile, giving Thor an edge in any combo situation.

Amaterasu
Universe: Capcom, Okami
First Appearance: "Okami"
Real Name: Amaterasu
Alignment: Hero
Brief Bio: When the seal binding the ancient eight-headed demon Orochi was broken, the world was plunged into chaos. Amaterasu descended from the heavens to battle the demon and restore the world to its former beauty. She fought evil spirits, gained the powers of the Celestial Brush, put up with the yammering of the "artist" Issun, and finally managed to defeat Orochi once and for all--but a goddess’ work is never done.
Powers: As the goddess of the sun, Ammy can control different elements, and she uses a host of different weapons to defeat her foes. She can even create objects from nothingness with her Celestial Brush.
Play Style: Amaterasu has so many options in this game it’s ridiculous! She has three different sets of normal attacks to keep your opponents guessing, and each comes with its own unique special move. Ammy can play keep-away with her Cold Star projectile and the long reach of her Rosary Bead normals or dash in with the Reflector or the Glaive to start some combo action into OTG into hyper madness. Her instant full screen Okami Shuffle does great damage and her tiny hit box causes tons of normals, specials and hypers to go right over her head!

Ask yourself this. Can Thor take down Odin? If not, then he has no chance against Amatarasu. Why? Because Amatarasu is Shinto's Zeus/Odin. She is the sun goddess, not a "demon dog" or w/e. She isn't even really a dog. Amatarasu is said to be so beautiful that mortal eyes can not bear the image of her (hence is the explanation as to why you can not stare directly into the sun), so she appears to us as a wolf. Thor is out of his league.Gameplay wise in mvc3, Amatarasu looks much better than Thor as well.

First its not a demon dog its a the sun god and OH Yeas thor can definately defeat a god with the power of all four element and the awesome ability to create from nothingness. Get your heads out of the toilet and concentrate, 1>4. Amy-chwan all the way.
Seriously people actually think some demon dog could take Thor, that's funny. Thor would smoke show.
