The God of Thunder himself was spotted today, walking the hallowed halls of... The New York Stock Exchange?!
Thor stopped in on a contest at the Exchange, where employees competed for tickets to the Mighty Avenger's big screen debut this week by lifting Mjolnir from it's resting place. Many found their might being tested to the fullest. "I lifted the whole thing off the ground. Nothin'!" quipped one of the employees, fresh off his attempt at wielding the thunderous hammer.
The quest for Mjolnir was just one example of a great relationship that Marvel and the NYSE share.
"We're very proud of our affiliation with Marvel and The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS)." said Beth Oporto, the Exchange’s Managing Director of Global Marketing and Branding. "We enjoy opening up our media and event platform to support key products in our listed company’s portfolio. We've hosted Marvel for Iron Man and The Hulk. Marvel has even sponsored the NYSE Kids’ Day celebration and now Thor. We look forward to Disney/Marvel’s many return NYSE visits. It’s always a great treat for the traders and our in-house media outlets.”
Although not all of the competitors could be chosen by the mighty Mjolnir, each one went home with the electrifying Thor Lightning Hammer from Hasbro and their picture with the Asgardian prince himself!
