The Marvel Universe harbors a plethora of peculiar personalities! Its multitude of heroes, villains and creatures yield some bizarre looking characters. Today we pay tribute to the most hirsute of heroes: that's right, behold our top five hairiest heroes! Have your clippers close; this is going to get furry!

5. Sasquatch
Name: Walter Langkowski

Description: Checking in at number 5 is accomplished scientist, former Green Bay Packer, and mythical cryptid Sasquatch! Walter Langkowski's life changed forever when he exposed himself to Gamma radiation, the very kind that gave close friend Bruce Banner green skin and big muscles. However, what the Alpha Flight stalwart got instead was some serious hair and a new name: Sasquatch!

4. Werewolf by Night

Description: Hailing from the darkest corners of Transylvania comes our number four pick, Werewolf by Night! Cursed by the ominous powers of the Darkhold and a long lineage of lycanthropy, Jack Russell leads a tumultuous life thanks to his wooly form. While Jack has teamed up with Marvel greats such as Iron Man and Spider-Woman, he often succumbs to his feral instincts, striking terror in those around him. Watch out!

3. Squirrel Girl

Description: Next up, Squirrel Girl! A consistently underestimated teenage heroine, Squirrel Girl uses her Los Angeles attitude and squirrel-controlling abilities to kick-butt and take names. She earned her place in the Marvel U by teaming up with furry friends, such as Monkey Joe, to save such heroes as Iron Man. Squirrel Girl has served on the Great Lake Avengers and is a nanny for the Cage Family.

2. Beast
Name: Henry “Hank” P. McCoy

Description: Coming in at #2 is the blue, fanged and fabulous Beast! Born a mutant after his father was exposed to massive amounts of nuclear radiation, Beast found he had extraordinary mental and physical skills. Armed with a PhD in Genetics and trained at the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters, this hairy hero is rich in both brains and brawn.

Description: Our #1 hairy (anti)hero is Wolverine, a mutant possessing animal instincts, claws, superhuman strength and a hyped up healing factor. Government project Weapon X left Wolverine wielding an indestructible metal skeleton. Wolverine’s exceptional abilities have allowed him to prevail in some pretty hairy situations.
