The world’s buzzing about the impending debut of a brand new Wallcrawler, Miles Morales, coming to his own ongoing series on September 14 in ULTIMATE COMICS SPIDER-MAN #1. While Ultimate Universe founding father Brian Michael Bendis will provide the words for this fresh webslinging adventures, making her mark on art will be one of the most rapidly rising talents in comics, Sara Pichelli.
With her energetic style and winning knack for bringing the fantastic to life, it’s hard to believe Pichelli only got her start at Marvel three years ago, debuting on the 2008 NYX: NO WAY HOME limited series. Follow up gigs working with writer Kathryn Immonen on RUNAWAYS and X-MEN: PIXIE STRIKES BACK would earn the young Italian rave reviews as well as the attention of Bendis and the Ultimate editorial team, who brought her aboard the prior volume ULTIMATE COMICS SPIDER-MAN.
Now, as both Pichelli and Miles prepare to make their mark on the Ultimate Universe and beyond, we’re getting psyched with a three-part sketchbook featuring never-before-seen designs and layouts. Witness the birth of the new Spider-Man and get a full tour behind the scenes from his co-creator!

“The haircut wasn't approved yet, but I tried to do some expressions, just to see if the face structure was working. I added the key color to see how the skin tone would have fit on that face.”

“Here's some versions of the new costume. I did a ton of versions, but this is just a sample of the evolution of the suit. Oh! And there is the new USM logo in the background that [we] designed for this new series.”

“The fight between Kangaroo and Miles was a hard scene to draw; I was told to make Miles move less athletic then Peter, because he's still practicing his superhero skill, and [that’s] not an easy job when it comes of Spider-Man's actions!”

“As you can see, there's a pose of Spidey with a ‘NO’ next to it; yeah, I give judgments on my own drawings—such a psycho! [By the way] that pose was too stupid, don't you think?

“Here I was trying to underline the difference by the bulky Kangaroo and the tiny Miles—remember he's 12-13 [years old]!

“Look at the pose of Spider-Man on car in the biggest image: he looks not so sure [he’ll] be able to fight with this villain, doesn't he? That was my goal; the first two sketches of [this] pose were too "pro" for a spider-beginner!”

pete will be back, no stays dead in marvel.
I liked the old spiderman peter parker is spiderman it will take getting used too.
killing off ultimate peter parker is an intresting move and i hope the new spiderman will be awesome and it will be worth it, and as long i have amazing spiderman they can do whatever they want
Everyone who reads the Ultimate books should know by now that the whole series is about change and bending the rules. you should be used to it by now. Pete is not the first major character killed off in the Ultimate books, get over it. if you dont like change go read something else.
Really glad I switched to Red Hood and the Outlaws.
