As the noted philosopher M.C. Hammer once proclaimed, "It's hammer time," True Believers! The Mighty Thor's headed for TV screens everywhere, courtesy of Marvel Animation! Marvel Animation took the industry by storm as it debuted its all-new animated TV shows in its first-ever appearance at MIPCOM—the global content event for creating, co-producing, buying, selling, financing and distributing entertainment content across all platforms. Now Marvel Animation is expanding its slate of offerings with 26 action-packed half-hour episodes of an all-new animated television series based on Thor. The Thor series will be self-produced by Marvel and is scheduled to launch fall 2010 following Marvel's live-action "Thor" feature film in summer of 2010. The Thor animated series is an all new-property featuring one of Marvel's longtime favorite characters: the heroic thunder god of Norse mythology. The animated series will follow Thor as he defends his mythical home of Asgard against fantastical villains, fiendish hordes, winged creatures and angry giants. The show takes place in various wondrous worlds: from mountainous landscapes to places of icy mists and fiery voids. Thor will be surrounded by many companions on his mission, every one sure to add to the action and adventure of this series. "The Thor animated series continues Marvel's strategic plan to follow each of our tent pole feature films with an animated series and will offer a continued awareness in the marketplace for this exciting new franchise," said Eric Rollman, Marvel's President of Animation. "Through animation we can openly explore and tell the rich stories which are unique to the worlds of Thor." But you don't have to wait until 2010 for new Marvel animation, Marvelites! Coming in 2009, Marvel brings its iconic heroes Wolverine and Iron Man to television in two brand-new animated series airing on Nicktoons. The two shows, "Wolverine and the X-Men" (a co-production with Toonz Entertainment Pte Ltd., Singapore and First Serve International Ltd.) and "Iron Man Armored Adventures" (a co-production with France based Method Films) will each feature 26 action-packed, half-hour episodes that follow the respective heroes through dynamic action, adventure and drama as they face foes both familiar and new to their fans. Marvel Animation has also partnered with BET Networks to produce an animated series based on the legendary Marvel hero, the Black Panther. The all-new "Black Panther Animated Series" is slated to premiere on BET Networks in the summer of 2009. In fall of 2009, Marvel will premiere its self-produced all-new "Marvel Super Hero Squad" animated series, an action-packed show featuring super-stylized versions of its most popular characters including Captain America, Silver Surfer, Hulk, Wolverine and Iron Man. The series features the great heroic story telling Marvel is known for and adds a touch of comedy to the mix. Following Marvel's live-action feature film release, "Avengers," in the summer of 2011, Marvel will premiere its self-produced "The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" in the fall of 2011 showcasing the best of the best in the Marvel Universe in 26 episodes of an all-new animated series. Why is there not any concept art, screenshots or behind the scenes information on this animated Thor program under the "Movies & TV" section of Marvel.com?This new series sounds great but all I found on Marvel.com was information on "Marvel Super Hero Squad" and Iron Man Armored Adventures. Where is Thor?

Well folks you can look for Thor and all other Marvel properties on DisneyXD from now on. But if this is anything like Hulk vs. Thor is should be pretty freaking sweet.

Will the animation in this new series look like that of Hulk vs Thor? Because if it does I'm sure to watch this new series. BTW will Marvel show some new footage and concept art of this new 2010 Thor animated program at Comic Con? And will this program also air on Cartoon Network?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpJ-RtKFCFY

I remember that back in the 1970's there was old Dungeons and Dragons cartoon and I think this new Thor toon might be a cross between this and LOTR.Hopefully Marvel can create an animate series based on the new game Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes the animation scenes in the game look incredible.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wccV45fsoJI
