Dark Avengers Captures March 2009 while April Anticipates Wolverine
March, 2009 saw Marvel Publishing capture the #1 comic of the month for the 28th straight month, going back to December 2006, with the release of the red-hot Dark Avengers #3. Marvel also nabbed 7 of Top 10 and 19 of Top 25 comic book spots for the month. Marvel also took the top position for market share with 47.24%. This is 19.43% higher than the nearest competitor, DC Comics. While in April, due to the highly anticipated X-Men: Origins - Wolverine film, Marvel Publishing launched a new Wolverine title- Wolverine: Weapon X. Retailer and fan feedback has been astounding, with a new Wolverine title on stands to attract new readers who are fans of the film.
