Each week we highlight a classic storyline told in full inside Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited, the greatest collection of Marvel comics available online! This week we explore FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST FAMILY!
By Ben Morse
We all know how it began: a brilliant scientist convinces his girlfriend, her kid brother, and their pilot friend to fly an experimental rocket into outer space. They get bombarded by cosmic rays and end up becoming the first great heroes of a new age in the Marvel Universe: the Fantastic Four.
But that's not the whole story.
In 2006, writer Joe Casey and artist Chris Weston explored the days immediately following the fateful flight of Reed Richards and company in
FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST FAMILY. The gorgeous and meticulous work of Weston perfectly brought to life a story by Casey meshing hope with paranoia, as the soon-to-be-FF comes to grips with the spectacular experience they've been through in the face of military paranoia and their own personal upheaval. See how the Fantastic Four became the true first family of the Marvel Universe.
