Captain America has, since this most recent series began, been at its most consistent best in AGES... I kind of dropped off the internet scene, and I didn't have any idea that Steve was dying - it was amazing. Bringing Bucky back, once thought completely taboo, was also amazing. The art's been solid too... everything about this book has been clicking, and I've loved it. I was even ok with ...

I was even ok with Brubaker leaving my favorite Marvel book (Daredevil), so long as he kept up with Cap...but I just got Reborn #1 a few days ago in my monthly shipment, and it was just awful. I was scared when they started giving the clues a few months prior that Steve wasn't dead... I kept hoping it wouldn't happen... but now it looks like it will, and the whole thing was just dumb. Between this and issue 601, I've found myself kind of hoping that they forget to ship my issues of Cap next month so that I can get geared back up to like it again.I'm still hoping Ed will turn this around into something cool... but... ugh. Brutal so far.

Ok with Cap Reborn being somewhat ok, i have to say this... WHO THE HELL WAS IT THAT THOR WAS SPEAKING TO WHEN HE YELLED "AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!!" I believe this was about 3 or 4 issues back. Reason why i'm asking is because this entire story of Red Skulls Time Machine being the machinism that's holding Cap is honestly a bit silly. I'm going to continue following this Reborn story line but i have ...

Reason why i'm asking is because this entire story of Red Skulls Time Machine being the machinism that's holding Cap is honestly a bit silly. I'm going to continue following this Reborn story line but i have to be honest and say i'm a bit disappointed. Not only in it being he's "In and Out" of time? More like Limbo it should really be stated, but whatever, i would just like for Marvel to put an issue out on who it was Thor was talking to, it seemed to be it was the spirit of Cap but if he's in and out of time, then that wouldn't be him right? RIGGGGHHHHTTTT. So i guess its safe to say J. M. Strazynski didn't get the memo.....

Seriously why can't they just keep someone dead??????Captain America's death was I think the most symbolic death written in comic book history in my opinion and now its all being completely wiped down the drain because their sales were down with the bucky line so they decided hey lets be lame and bring him back. NO STOP IT!!! LEAVE HIM DEAD!!! I mean try and stick to something please. His ...

NO STOP IT!!! LEAVE HIM DEAD!!! I mean try and stick to something please. His death was I think a great marker as almost the end of the old days. You know the registration was my last marvel event that I actually enjoyed. It tore a gap in the comic readers and really gave you something to think about and discuss. The perfect way to end the registration and unite the marvel universe. Honestly even if they do bring him back I'm still going to consider Captain America dead. RIP :cap:

:cd0bc2dda4="dirtybirdee"]I agree. I absolutely hate it when they bring a character back to life once they're dead. Predictable. Boring. Lame. Stupid. And I also really hate the idea of Bucky taking Cap's place. They should have just made a new character or had Captain America tryouts (opposers will argue that Bucky would have won the tryouts). Just because someone wears someone else's uniform ...

Just because someone wears someone else's uniform, that doesn't mean that they have the same capabilities as the original person. I think it would be great if Bucky got overconfident in his new role and got killed.[/quote:cd0bc2dda4]Ummm...i agree that they shouldn't bring Rogers back, at least not yet, but as for Bucky being the new Cap, I dont think anyone could have done it better. I mean, Rogers symbolized America as it should be and was there to inspire people to be better, but Bucky is there to show America how it is now. He stands for seeing things for what they are, and then making them better. This is his redemption for his terrible past, and he will be the first to say that he isnt as good as Rogers was, but he is there to bring hope to an America that is on the brink of destroying all it ever stood for. He is just a normal guy, but he does whatever he can to fight for what he believes in, and that is really what being an American is all about. This Captain America is here to show this country how to really fight for their freedom.
