Marvel Entertainment, LLC announced today that it has appointed Jeph Loeb as Executive Vice President, Head of Television, a newly created division of Marvel Entertainment. In this new role, Mr. Loeb will work alongside Dan Buckley, Publisher & President of the Print, Animation & Digital Divisions, Marvel Worldwide, Inc., to translate Marvel's popular characters and stories to the television medium, in both live-action and animation formats. In addition to these responsibilities, Mr. Loeb will oversee the development and distribution of live-action, animated and direct-to-DVD series. Mr. Loeb was previously a Marvel-exclusive Eisner-Award-winning comic book writer and an Emmy-nominated writer for his work on NBC's "Heroes." The announcement was made today by Alan Fine, Executive Vice President, Office of the President and Chairman of Marvel Studios' Creative Committee, and by Mr. Buckley, to whom Mr. Loeb will report.

Mr. Fine stated, "It's with tremendous pride that I announce the creation of our Marvel Television division and the appointment of Jeph Loeb as Executive Vice President. His work in the comic book field is in a class of its own, showing his passion and talent for bringing Marvel's finest characters to life in an innovative manner. With Jeph as our EVP, fans will experience the highest quality and most exciting television projects featuring their favorite Marvel characters."

"I couldn't be happier to accept this new position at Marvel Entertainment, working with both Dan and Alan to deliver exciting, cutting edge television projects," said Mr. Loeb. "Marvel continues to break new ground in storytelling in both their comic book and film ventures, so, along with everyone here, I'm excited to bring the same brand of excitement into homes across the globe."

Mr. Loeb has written acclaimed stories featuring every major super hero in comics, including Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Daredevil, Spider-Man, the X-Men and more. Multiple-time winner of the prestigious Eisner Award for his writing, Mr. Loeb quickly established himself as one of the most sought after writers in the comic industry. Mr. Loeb also served as writer/producer on television series "Smallville" and "Lost"; writer/co-executive producer on "Heroes"; and writer of hit films "Commando" and "Teen Wolf."

Just respect the product and make some good television, anime, or cartoons. Try to market to the adult fans a bit more like DC does with their animation. Justice league, batman, when is Marvel gonna cater to us with some good animation?

Spinoff website suggested some TV shows. I like the idea of Heroes for Hire, but wan't crazy about Power Pack or Machine Teen. How about Daredevil? You would have to do it right, but it's the easiest to sell to producers and studios: Batman meets Law and Order!!! (Think about it Jeph)

Well done Marvel. Any time you can promote the guy who directly oversaw Heroes devolve into one of the most mind-bogglingly stupid shows ever to the Head of Television position in your company you just have to do it! In related news, Jeph Loeb’s Guide to Reaching New Lows While Inexplicably Failing Upwards is coming to a bookstore near you!

I think darkclaw100's inability to compose a coherent sentence while defending Jeph Loeb’s writing really says it all.

It's funny I was just watching the complete 'Lost' Series and I noticed how far down the quality went in season two, and how great it became in season three. Then I noticed who was associate producer in season two. Loeb. Then he went on to destroy 'Heroes' with all his out of character treatments , like he did on 'Lost', like he does everywhere he goes with everything he writes. His entire take on writing is to make charactersd do things they wouldn't normally and shake things up. In other words destroy a characters personality for shock value. Basically the guy is and always has been a lousy writer. Bad, bad idea Marvel. But for some God unknown reason you still have Bendis writing Avengers, so that alone says it all

Well, I've always liked his stories, especially X-Man on Heroes history was good at first, but lost spark in the second season. Actually I support his appointment if we are promised that the Arc of "Age of Apocalypse" will be in a future X-Men animation. I'd love to see the "Nate Grey" by Jeph on TV.

So, Jeph Loeb had a creator owned television show (Heroes) and he got FIRED from it. F I R E D, FIRED! After he got fired, it got better! Marvel should move away from Jeph Loeb, the man that ruined the Ultimate Universe.

Look I'm not defending Loeb but his writing in the hulk seris is pretty good. Also I don't know why people are getting bend-out of shape about this he not going to be writing anything he is just going to be picthing ideas also I would rather have a guy they hire actully know about comics then someone who does not. They could have hired some nick toons guy. And for the people like "Spectacular Spider-Man" Spider-Man is getting other show in the spring. Ultimate Spider-Man, and this was said like year look it up.

I will not judge until these new series are actually released but I have very little hope for any upcoming marvel tv projects. I understand that Jeff Loeb is a long time Marvel contributor but I just do not understand this move at all. Honestly, please just give him the HULK series and maybe another one and nothing. Leave TV and the Ultimate U alone.

Few names inspire haterade in the comic book world like Jeph Loeb. I won't say that Jeph is a bad writer... but he's sure put his name on a lot of projects that went in the tank or that otherwise have ended badly.

I think it´s important to link the series, with special participations (Punisher, Deadpool, Omega Red, Ghost Rider, Blade), to do great battles like Hulk x Juggernaut, Thor x Blackheart, Wolverine x Venom, to use great villains like Apocalypse, Carnage, Dr. Doom, Abyss, Galactus, Mephisto, Thanos, it would be exciting!!

couldn't have said it better, fallowt. but just to name a few others: ultimates vol. 3, supreme power, ultimatum...

Ok, so now that Heroes is gone, we need something to fill the void...a live action on going series...Daredevil would be great AS LONG AS YOU STICK AS CLOSELY AS A TV PRODUCTION WILL ALLOW TO THE COMICS...I hate it when you guys change up way too much, us fans will stick more closely to following it if you stay with what we like (even though I know there will always be people the b!tc# and complain and pick it apart...which bugs me too)...now you need to get far sighted and far minded, since you guys are now a part of Disney, you got the backing to have a Marvel TV channel (too bad the moniker MTV is taken..haha...)

Dude can start by getting third series of "Spectacular Spider-Man" commissioned. All ready to be made, just needs the go-ahead. Marvel's best TV show EVER, bar none!
