Coming this Sunday, the Avengers clash with their opposite number, the Cabal, for the final time, along with the threat of a Tesseract-powered Red Skull. Before the senses-shattering new episode of “Marvel’s Avengers Assemble” arrives this Sunday at 8:00 a.m. ET inside Marvel Universe on Disney XD, though, prepare yourself with these top five battle between the two teams from the season so far!

      5. “Exodus”
After taking the fight to the Cabal and nearly losing a teammate because of it, the Avengers have been knocked on their heels. Iron Man’s confidence is shattered and he has retreated into his “genius” persona, abandoning his role as leader and super hero. In his stead, Captain America leads the team…and yet it seems not to be enough. Horde after horde of vampires, A.I.M. agents, and robots dogpile them--and that’s not even including Attuma, Dracula, M.O.D.O.K., and Hyperion, not to mention a Tesseract-wielding Red Skull. On the ropes, the team is saved at the last minute by a healed and newly costumed Falcon and a resurgent Tony. However, victory is fleeting as in the final moments of the episode, Red Skull absorbs the Tesseract and ascends to cosmic consciousness and ultimate power.

          4. “In Deep”
The Cabal welcomes two new possible members into their ranks, Crossbones and Grim Reaper…unaware that the “villains” are actually sheep in wolves’ clothing, Captain America and Iron Man. Infiltrating the team, the squabbling duo finds the Cabal is no mere gathering of Red Skull and some henchmen thugs, but a dangerous mirror image of their own team. Unable to rein in their feuding, the heroes are revealed. Trapped in a submarine several leagues below the surface, Cap and Tony have no choice but to take on the entire group of baddies to survive in a brutal claustrophobic struggle.

              3. “By the Numbers”
Tony is convinced his new predictive model is better than ever and holds the key to defeating the Cabal. Although some of the team have doubts about this, they place their trust in the (Iron) man and follow his orders. Unfortunately for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, Red Skull has no intention of playing by the rules and the Avengers can do nothing but play catch up as the Cabal rides off with the Tesseract.

                  2. “The Ambassador”
Captain America’s unimpeachable ethics can sometimes lead to strange bedfellows, as it does here when the Avengers must protect Doctor Doom from the angry retribution of the Cabal. Battling down the streets of New York City, the Avengers take everything the Cabal throws at them to protect arguably the most dangerous man on Earth. In a list filled with draws and utter defeats, this stands as the Avengers’ biggest victory of the season as they triumph over all comers and keep their morals intact to boot.

                      1. “Bring on the Bad Guys”
On the other hand, “Bring on the Bad Guys” is perhaps the team’s roughest experience. Hacked and utterly outmaneuvered by the Red Skull, Tony and the rest of the team spend most of the episode bruised and several steps behind. Even the team’s apparent repelling of the Cabal in the episodes’ closing skirmish turns out to be a feint. Skull only had his eye on one prize, the bitter Hyperion, and the Cabal gets away with it, ending up all the more powerful.

Don't miss the final showdown between the Avengers and the Cabal this Sunday, May 25 in "Marvel's Avengers Assemble" at 8:00 a.m. ET inside Marvel Universe on Disney XD!
