Like a number of other fans, at this point I'm not sure if there's enough material to make Peggy Carter a success in her own right. She is without a doubt one of the most attractive, sexiest women to ever grace the Hollywood spotlight, but I still think her future is brighter as long as she is tied to Captain America in some way. KEEP THAT ROMANCE ALIVE!!!

Let's make sure Agent Margaret "Peggy" Carter gets put inside that marvelous transforming machine that turned puny Steve Rogers into mighty Captain America BEFORE she expires of old age. I cannot conceive of Peggy being without the love of her life for very long. Steve and Peggy BELONG together and that machine is the only way to MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

The Agent Carter One Shot was so good and I can't wait to see her kicking ass and calling out mysogynists for a full 13 episodes. I really hope this ties into Trip's bag of goodies, the origin of the blue alien, and the Operation Paperclip reference in Winter Soldier.

this looks & sounds pretty cool & exciting.  i can't wait for the premiere!

There seem to be some nay-sayers and doubters here, who seem to think that "Agent Carter" simply won't have enough to make it stand out or won't be an interesting show.  There's a pretty good history of television shows with spy themes.  The following (and by no means exhaustive) list of fairly successful programs that have had espionage as a recurring theme include "Man From U.N.C.L.E.," "Girl From U.N.C.L.E.," "Alias," "I Spy," even "The Blacklist."   If the show is handled the way the Marvel One Shot was handled, I think it could be very enjoyable.  I just hope that it's not a recurring theme that Peggy Carter is not taken seriously by the men - that was fine for the set up of the One Shot, but it got resolved by the end.  To make it something that occurs every episode will detract from the show.

Better Show ideas in the same vein-

Brandt Chesterfield: Physical Therapist to your favorite super heroes, FINALLY gets his own series.

Donovan Masters: Avengers Actuary.

Peter Parker of Idaho Falls, a case of mistaken identity in four hilarious parts.

Marvel's Jennifer Farley: Unpaid Intern

Bev Powers 2: Age of Meatloaf

Shield Custodial, Starring Mandy Patinkin as Rosco the janitor. He does the real dirty work.

Stilt Man the series, with special guests Mr. Hyde, Spot, Rocket Racer, and Spider Ham.

I've got a million of these.

I think that Agent Carter will just might be the perfect link between Captain America, The Avengers, & The Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., because before Elektra, before The Invisible Girl, even before The Black Widow, there was Agent Peggy Carter, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s 1st female agent.

Why are they doing this? Agent Carter? Who cares. Just more superhero tv without any superheroes. Agents of Sheild is a boring show with loose tie ins to the movies. Agent Carter will be boring too. There's a reason kids have never said, "Nick Fury, Agent of Sheild is my favorite comic book!" Marvel- Superheroes are your bread and butter. Quit pushing the most boring aspects of your universe on us. It's annoying. What's next? a show that follows Squirrel Girl? Actually, that would be kind of interesting, because at least she can talk to squirrels(I'm assuming). I say this as a loyal lifelong Marvel fan- watching AoS is a chore. Even worse, it feels like watching someone else do chores. boring ones.

Make Mine Marvel(except AoS)

eh. I like the short but I don't know if there's enough there for TV show. This smacks of "Gotham" (the new FOX show). I want to get the ratings of a superhero show but I don't want to spend the money for a superhero show. I know! I'll just make a show about the "others". Geez. Shield is barely hanging on. While this is not a pure spin-off I don't think the concept has proven itself enough for a second show. It's already down to 5.5M viewers from 12 Million at the premiere.

Really excited for this show too!   Maybe some Howling Commandos could guest-spot as well, Gabe Jones & Peggy were a couple in the Captain America & Falcon  Comics in the 70's.   I really love the period possibilities... Zodiac is pretty much a given much from the Agent Carter short (although them in MAOS would also be welcome ;-)

So excited! Marvel needs more female leads but I agree with demogorge, too much focus on that would be a minus

I really hope they keep her as she was in the movies and short film. Please keep the focus on an over arching story and not how life was difficult for woman back in the 1940's. If they do to much of that, then it'll get preachy, pretentious, and eye rolling.

My hope is other Hydra boss' like Madam Hydra or the children of the Red Skull make an appearance.

I could not be more excited. I haven't been this excited for a show in a long, long time. I hope her character isn't altered...I love her level head, her wit, and her virtue. Don't make her loosy goosy!!

I want to know if Dominic Cooper will be playing Howard. I'd love to see the show eventually work up to his death at the hands of Hydra.

@Juggernaut1986 Yeah - but the last episode of SHIELD season one had him VAPORIZED. How in the world are they going to being him back from THAT?

Agent_Wilson

@BGHampton Yes, it will be nice if she is taken more serious, yes you can still have a few naysayers but as she proves herself more they should fall away. Even considering the time frame where women were considered to be next to nothing in the office, someone to get coffee, look pretty, and make sure the guys looked good when the reports were typed up.

But I think one of the whole ideals of this show is to break her out of that mold, and as you have stated I just hope it doesn't take a full season for it to happen.

@davidtysonwhite9300 Who cares? I CARE - and so do MANY Captain America & Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans! So keep your HUMBLE opinion in line with everyone else's - one SMALL voice in a SEA of voices!

@davidtysonwhite9300  First of all, a lot of people care about Agent Carter, me being one of them.  I'm actually really excited about this new show, but people like you make it all the more worse.  I understand you may not like the idea of having a show about the amazing Agent Peggy Carter, but you can't start criticizing her like that and still call yourself a loyal lifelong Marvel fan, because you're not.  It absolutely irks me when people say such stereotypical things like having superheros as our "bread and butter".  I am literally shaking as I'm typing this right now because of what you've said about the marvelous Marvel.  I am absolutely furious.  I get you're entitled to your own opinion, but if you think Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (which you spelled wrong by the way) is a "chore" to watch, then maybe you shouldn't watch it.

Next show idea- Agents of the IRS.  Do you like superheroes?  Well then you'll really like the guys who collect their taxes.

Funny comments here but on a serious note, @wsouth you hit the nail on the head, we as fans are being cheated and as long as we settle (by watching) AOS, Agent Carter, etc. that's what we're going to get.  I'm 100% sure that we all would rather be watching a Daredevil, Punisher, Luke Cage, etc. series as opposed to AOS and Agent Carter but as long as we continue to watch the D list characters that's what the networks are going to give us.  DC Fans don't settle for dreck and that's why they get Smallville, Arrow & now the Flash.  Stop settling Marvel Fans!!!

@Mrs. Captain America @davidtysonwhite9300 I'm not trying to fight any internet battles, or offend fans, because really, who cares?  I'm just saying if they're going to make a show about a strong female Marvel character, there are many that are more interesting, and that would be more fun to watch than a regular, non powered bit player from Captain America.  These shows are being made because they know comic book nerds(myself included) will watch it all just so we don't miss anything.  And shows about Agents are cheaper to make than shows with guys flying around shooting beams out of their eyes. It's nothing personal, Just feels like instead of giving the fans what they want (on tv), they're giving us stuff that's sort of, kind of, in the same ballpark.  (Sorry Marvel. I still love you)

Boisv

@Fannish That's what I want to see. Now if they can only snag Tommy Lee Jones for at least one episode. Since the series will involve the foundation of SHIELD, they should really try and have the three people who's faces were hanging on that wall in Cap 3. Toby Jones as Arnim Zola would also be a nice addition.

@crowman82 @Agent_Wilson@davidtysonwhite9300@Mrs. Captain AmericaThis makes perfect sense.  I'd like to know more about what happens behind the scenes.  Way behind the scenes.  Like Shield Clean Up Crew.  Once the insurance is taken care of, someone has to fix the presumably billions of dollars worth of damage done by the Avengers in the "Battle for New York".  Even Hawkeye shot a Chitauri or two, and those ships had to hit something.  Think about it.

@Agent_Wilson @davidtysonwhite9300 @Mrs. Captain America
I am rather confused as to why you are so angry.  david isn't being pompous, he is just expressing his opinion.  And it is an opinion I happen to agree with.  It appears that Marvel is just milking the cow, knowing that people will tune in regardless if the show is worth it or not.  The show may actually be good, but he is poking fun at it, and it is funny.  Avengers Actuary is a hilarious idea.  New York was destroyed.  Don't you think someone should do a CBA on the Avengers to discern insurance?  I do.

@Mrs. Captain America My opinions are my opinions, and I own them(Hence no clever screen name).  I don't anonymously attack people with hateful words because I don't agree with them.

@Mrs. Captain America @davidtysonwhite9300  I'm sure you don't like many of the things I do, but I wouldn't take it personally, because I didn't write, direct, or star in those things.  ;) It's just an opinion.  And yes it's an overreaction, but I wouldn't call you an imbecile because of it..  Because I don't know you, and none of my opinions are about you as a person. They're about a TV show.

Mrs. Captain America

@davidtysonwhite9300 @Mrs. Captain America  As said in the previous comment, myself & a lot of other true Marvel fans care.  If you still think that they're "not giving the fans what they want & it's still in the same ballpark", then maybe you should stop faking being a fan & STOP WATCHING.  I understand what I'm saying may be a little overreacting & might be crazy to comprehend for you, but I really hate it when people says they're fans but do stuff like things like this.  It just makes my blood boil, but you know what?  I'm going to just stop it right here & now, because you're just not worth it.  I don't need to be wasting my time dealing with imbeciles as yourself, when I could be wasting it in other places like YouTube & Wattpad.  Thank you for this amazing conversation.  I will cherish it greatly.

@Agent_Wilson @davidtysonwhite9300 @Mrs. Captain America I notice the personal attacks and name calling are coming from your side and not mine... My only point is that there are much better female characters that will never have a show, because this is a much cheaper way to trick the fans into watching.  I think you should take your own advice and maybe not get so personally invested in a show you haven't seen that you call strangers names, and spew hate.

@Mrs. Captain America

Seriously david, this new show about Agent Carter may or may not be any good, we all have to wait and see. If we are interested, if your not then don't effin' watch it. At least don't go around criticizing it before you ever see it.

And just because you have your little "U member" status symbol doesn't impress or prove anything other than you have the extra money to spend. So, if you don't like watching TV shows like AoS and the yet unseen Agent Carter, why don't you just crawl back into your comic books and wait for the next movie to come out, or wait with baited breath for the live action Marvel show to come to a town near you!

Sorry to everyone else that this is a little snide, but I just hate pompous azzes that talk cow manure about things that they can easily just change the channel or turn it off, and then not bother those of us that enjoy it.
