Oh, and we actually have a special treat for this showdown, the first episode of our "Marvel vs. Capcom 2" featurettes! Enjoy!

Fighter Name: Wolverine

Real Name: James Howlett

Universe: Marvel, X-Men

First Appearance: THE INCREDIBLE HULK #181

Marvel/Capcom Game Appearances: "X-Men: Children of the Atom," "Marvel Super Heroes," "X-Men vs. Street Fighter," "Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter," "Marvel vs. Capcom," "Marvel vs. Capcom 2"

Citizenship: Canada

Brief Bio: Living the calm and cool pampered life in 19th Century Canada until traumatic events triggered the onset of his mutant powers, Wolverine's life has been anything but quiet ever since. From fighting in world wars, training in the ways of the samurai in Japan or working as an assassin for the CIA, Wolvie's been just about everywhere. And for the longest time, he couldn't remember any of it—a result of the process that grafted adamantium to his skeleton and claws. Nearly driven mad and used as a weapon time and again, Wolverine's long since established himself as one of the most heroic members of the X-Men, Avengers, humanity and mutantkind. Remember, he really is the best there is at what he does.

Powers: Wolverine has a mutant healing factor that keeps him going no matter how hard you hit him. Couple that with an unbreakable adamantium skeleton, six razor sharp claws, animal-like senses, and an anger management problem and you've got one very dangerous mutant.

Special Moves: Berserker Barrage, Drill Claw, Tornado Claw, Berserker Barrage X, Weapon X

Quote: "Still the best there is at what I do!"

Fighter Name: Ryu

Real Name: Ryu

Universe: Capcom, Street Fighter

First Appearance: "Street Fighter"

Marvel/Capcom Game Appearances: "X-Men vs. Street Fighter," "Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter," "Marvel vs. Capcom," "Marvel vs. Capcom 2"

Citizenship: Japan

Brief Bio: The heart and soul of the "Street Fighter" series, Ryu is probably the most well known fighting game character in the world. Master of the Hadouken (fireball), he is more out to perfect his craft and hone his skills than win fights. An orphan trained alongside Ken, Ryu has a personality you could call stoic or boring. Either way, he is often seen as the greatest pure fighter in the world, always out for the next challenge to his abilities, with very little else in his way, save for vengeance against Akuma, the man he thought killed his very alive master.

Powers: Ryu is quite possibly the most skilled student of the Shotokan karate style. As such he has a ton of special attacks at his disposal, the most familiar being the chi-powered fireball, the Hadouken.

Special Moves: Hadouken, Shoryuken, Tatsumaki Senpuu-Kyaku, Shinkuu Hadou-Ken, Shinkuu Tatsumaki Senpuu-Kyaku, Shin Shoryuken

Quote: "You must believe you can win, in order to win!"

No need to break it down for me.... Ryu attack at long range to keep Wolvie at a distance because he knows Wolverine is a match for his close-combat skills....but once Wolverine's healing factor...
