|Marvel vs. Capcom 3 promo art by Sana Takeda|
With the release of "Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds" just around the corner on February 15, our friends at Capcom Unity passed along this excellent piece of art by Sana Takeda throwing some of the biggest names from the game against one another!
And once you're done taking in the art, check out Capcom Unity's interview with Takeda below!
Sana Takeda is a comic book artist and illustrator from Japan who does everything from pencils to color. In the American market, she’s best known for her work on Marvel Comics’ MS. MARVEL, X-MEN: FAIRY TALES and X-23, as well as the creator-owned Drain from Image. Before becoming a comic artist, she did design work for video games.
Capcom Unity: What do you feel is different about drawing Capcom or Marvel characters? Which characters do you enjoy drawing the most?
Sana Takeda: I had fun drawing all of them, but especially Arthur and M.O.D.O.K.. I enjoyed drawing both Capcom and Marvel, but I particularly like how Capcom characters have variety in their size and figures.
Capcom Unity: Which characters were you drawing for the first time? Which were the most difficult to draw?
Sana Takeda: Mostly all of the Capcom characters, since I [was drawing] most of them for the first time. I hope I was able to capture every detail of the characters.
Capcom Unity: Which MvC3 character are you most similar to?
Sana Takeda: I think Arthur…
Capcom Unity: If you could borrow one MvC3 character’s powers/abilities, who’s would it be?
Sana Takeda: If I had any of those powers/abilities, I think I would be too scared and wouldn’t be able to sleep, so I’m fine without them.
Capcom Unity: What are you working on now?
Sana Takeda: X-23 #7. I usually work on comic book pages and pin-ups for Marvel.
Capcom Unity: One thing to say to aspiring artists?
Sana Takeda: I’m not sure if I’m the one to give this kind of advice, but I believe that if you work with a sincere attitude and give it everything that you have, you will be successful in whatever work that you want do--artist or not.
